Got my shortblock back
Well I got my shortblock back today but to my surprize, it wasn't assembled. I already drove down and couldn't wait for them to assemble it so I took it and will do it myself. I wanted to motivate myself a little so I mocked it up tonight, I'll start on the assembly tomorrow.
I moved this last week too and i now have a 3 car garage, the single is reserved for the Formula
I'm towing the car over tomorrow and will get pics of it's new home. The single side is blocked off so I don't have to worry about anything hitting it.

Re: Got my shortblock back
I still need to pick up the right measuring tools to put it together. Hopefully I can find a decent set for cheap as I don't plan on building many more for awhile.
There's no overspray, maybe it's just shadows.

Re: Got my shortblock back
btw, thanks for chatting with me tonight, I'm defintely taking my parts over to hines for balancing but I will probably assemble myself as well, no need to have someone else do it now, Goulds already prepped my block for the pistons, so I just need to slap everything together now. Block was already line honed the 1000 miles ago when I first assembled it and zero decked so it should be good to go. Did you ever verify by chance if your damper has a counterweight on it or not?

I'll go look now. They didn't have the damper when they balanced it, should they have?
Edit, no weights on it.
I need the dial indictor to check for play. I need to check bearing clearances too.

Are you looking for weights attached to the damper? If so then there's nothing. I can get a pic if you want. I can do it now.

Not sure yet,AFR recomends Felpro #1003 for up to 4.100 and #1034 for 4.100 bore or larger. I'm researching now for a good gasket.

Re: Got my shortblock back
Shortblock is together so I hope to have the engine mostly put back together this weekend. I need to make a trip to Summit though. Here's a pic of the block and the garage the car will be in. I have to clean it up tomorrow as I still have most of the stuff from the old garage in the single side.
