boost junkies, in here.

ive got the iroc dialed in to the point i am feeling pretty good about it until around 6k. still need to fix that top end and get my wideband ( ) setup properly, but my point of this thread is, when is/was your boost coming in and what rpm did it peak around?

in my log, boost starts kicking in around 3000rpm and by 4900 im already at 7psi. and sweet jesus first gear is so useless from a stoplight, i held first and when that light turned green i eased into the throttle and it was like neutral revving i had to hit second so fast! but the tire smoke behind me led me to believe that wasnt neutral i was in.
if boost is progressive with rpm, then i should be around 14psi at 7k, but we will see.

im just asking for similiar info so i have something to compare to.

Re: boost junkies, in here.

first, all us NorCal'ers have different motors, and different superchargers. with that said the answer is gonna be different. when I get on it in the formula it would jump to about 5-psi then climb to 10ish by about 4200rpm.

Re: boost junkies, in here.

The D-1SC I ran made 3psi at 3200rpm, 6psi at 4500rpm, and 15psi at 7500rpm. The idea of the turbo I'm putting on is that it will make more psi sooner and more in general too.

Re: boost junkies, in here.

I'd have to agree with Terrell's response on the differences, especially with possibly diff. methods in reading the boost pressure.

How is everyone gauging how many psi @ what rpm?
Eyeballin' gauges?
Datalogging with an app. that sees boost?

I would just be going off what my possibly inaccurate factory tach / boost gauge is telling me. Similar as others listed, but with a different step-up-ratio.

I've yet to dyno and see where my actual general peak #'s tap out at, let alone when and for how long boost is really initiated.

Hoping to have some WOT dyno tuning done shortly and get some of this worked out.

Re: boost junkies, in here.

Don't worry about what's out there and just figure out why your 1st gear sucks.

. ..or else my TPI will beat you.

My Nitto 555s have lasted a while (I give them that, I've treated them badly) but they can't hook for ****

So true. I can't wait to get rid of mine and get the matching pair of Toyos on the front.
