thanks lol, and i about fell outa my chair when i read this craigslist post so i had to check it out. not just for me but for anyone looking for what could be a very nice 88 iroc. ill put up the pics in a few mins when i get them off my phone (the seller texted them to me) the car sounds like a hell of a deal, depending on the milage and the engine (a little confusion there)

heres a link for everyones enjoyment:

Re: could use some eyes and ears on the west cost

what im not sure about is the engine.. "...it has a LST4 MOTOR 350. IT IS A VETT MOTOR FOR A FACT." which from that i assume she means an ls4 which is not a vette motor (to my knowledge) its a 5.3 short block i think. i called to ask about the car and she went on about how she was on her way to the liquor store and would take a pic of the engine when they got there.. never got the pic lol. so who knows, sounds legit though like she just doesnt know what she has so isnt charging very much for it.. could be a good buy depending on the miles. . the paint looks good.

Re: could use some eyes and ears on the west cost

I've got to say that I really hope the pictures are what is making that car look as bad as it does. I'm pretty sure the are trying to say LT4 motor for the vette refference, but keep in mind that a lot of people think that the LS1 or LT1 that came stock in their 4th gens is a "vette" motor, I hear this almost every time I talk to a 4th gen owner. I believe that much nicer cars can be had for the same price, even out here. Looks like a hack-job stereo install (probably riddled with electrical problems and plastic rattles), the paint and body looks shot, the rims are garbage (my opinion though, I hate large diameter rims; and these don't fit my exceptions). and the interior is in need of help. This car needs a lot of asthetic help, leaving me only to assume since they are so vauge on the mechanical condition, that it is in need of a lot of help there too. If it is your intention to buy something to restore/repair you are probably looking at a good candidate, but a good purchase for a "nice" car this one is clearly not. I apologize for being so negative, I am not normally so, but as I stated before you can find a much nicer car for the same price if you look a bit. This just looks like somebody's high school "DUB" project gone bad to me. But that's just my opinion.

P.S. If you're set on this car, I would suggest paying no more than 2K, and I would fight for less than that.

I KNOW WHAT ITS WORTH AND I DONT PLAY WIT MY CASH.

Classy.

I'd have to agree with a lot of the comments above. Not my interpretation of "very nice".

What is the mileage? That helps determine the price considerably, at least for me.

Considering your location, I would think you'd be able to find something much closer that's not so, modified.

Re: could use some eyes and ears on the west cost

i would say you need better pics, the cell pics dont show much detail, if the seller really need s to sell they would go more out of their way to provide more info, and pics to make their sale as quicly as possible if they dont, then obviosuly theres soemthign wrong. car doesnt look bad, alot of info with the car is irrelavent, and some pieces are missing that woudl only take time and little money to replace, the stereo system is worthless, the rims are a matter of personal taste, i think the better ? is what motor, if an lt4 then it migth be well worth it.

i just sold my gxsr 1000 2 weeks ago for reference, i provided at least 10 pics to numerous people, answered emails back and forth and made myself avaialble to any and every ? but maybe im just an honest seller....

post better pics im eager to know more, will also help me learn how much my 88 iroc might be worth(ball park)

Re: could use some eyes and ears on the west cost

didnt get the 87 :/ other kid that it had sentimental value to got it.. but he bid all the way up to 9100 bucks for it so i cant be too disappointed lol. was a red 87 iroc, 350/700r4, t-tops, 51k miles with engine rebuilt at 50k for some reason, new paint, had the 3rd tear iroc package, but the headliner was sagging and exhaust didnt look right. id probably say it was worth 4500 maybe 5k.

still bummed i couldnt get it though

57K miles, engine rebuild at 50K, repaint, and sagging headliner? Something smells very fishy to me on this one, it's probably good you didn't get it. either that car's odometer has been rolled back, or it was beat hard and put away wet every time it was taken out. Even at $4500 you would have been had for sure. If you're looking at that kind of budget, take a look on this forum. There is a georgous red Firebird for sale on here, $5000 and about 75K miles on it. It's up on the recent posts, and ought to be a great car. I have to agree with the others above too, post your ads you're looking at here (not just on Nor-Cal, but TGO in general) before you try to buy. We just want to help makes sure you get a good deal for the cash you spend, none of us want to see anyone get ripped off.
