Haha, You were the photographer I assume?
we have what looks to be the same flexplate.
Wanna build me that crossmember?
You can have my spohn 700r4 crossmember as a template for the mounting points.
I am going to bring my car for smog as well tomorrow.
Maybe I can bring it with me?
Let me know asap.

Re: TransBrake Install Documented

Transbrake got installed this morning, got the trans back about 1pm.

Trans is now back in the car, need to install the exhaust, then wire it up.

If all goes well, I'll run it Wednesday night to work some bugs out.

One more pic then this post is fully documented.

Re: TransBrake Install Documented

Well tbrake is in, trans & exhaust is back in, wiring is done.

We added fluid & I even put 3 post its all over the gauges & shifter reminding me to PULL when I shift, not push, since its a reverse valve body (PRN123).

I took a couple runs up & down the street, & tested the "brake", so with the trans in first gear, I held the momentary button & held the gas pedal at WOT.
The 2 step (rev limiter) comes on at 4000 rpms, and a couple seconds later when I let go of the button & the car baked the tires off for about 60 feet.

Hopefully it takes a couple of tenths off my 60 foot..

Thats what everyone says. I running 373 gears because I'm going to run the bottle so. I run the the traps in 3rd beers at about 5800 rpms, so I think the bottle should compensate for the lack of getting into the powerband in 3rd gear.

I'm gonna play with the spray this weekend so..... we'll see. F**king engine is leaking oil from everywhere, so I clean it, RTV it as I go. I'm so upset I spent so much on my motor & it leaks from everywhere.

Re: TransBrake Install Documented

I trap about 7200-7300 on the bottle and 6800-6900 off. That's with a 200 shot, 4,000 stall, 4.56 gears and 28 inch tire. What rpm are you shooting for? I hate oil leaks, got 3 of them right now, none of which are engine oil lol Power steering, trans and rear diff.

Re: TransBrake Install Documented

Running thru the traps at 5800-ish in 3rd gear, no bottle yet. I have 373gears w/ 28-10.50-15's.
I launch at 3500, soon at 4000 w/ the tbrake. I shift at 6800 before the limiter comes on.

Dang, so your about 1000 rpm short of where you need to be. Wonder how much the nitrous will help you out.

15 years ago would have put you in your late teens. Your "cowboy" wasn't even up for parole 15 years ago.

This isn't High School so lets not talk about 15 years ago, cause its like bragging about a girlfriend you banged that lives in Canada.

I was 15, 15 years ago, so Eric was probably 10, lol, but I digress. ..

It wasn't until I was 17 when I got my first Firebird and I sure didn't know much then either.

Re: TransBrake Install Documented

Ran another points race this weekend, up'd the timing to 38* and left on the transbrake at 4500 rpms.

When I let off the transbrake button at 4500, my lower back really felt it.

Its a cool feeling.

Fastest, slowest car in town. I didnt red light all day, but on the last race I tripped the 1st beams, then the other guy triped his, then I tripped my 2nd beam & I thought I saw his 2nd beam come on so I stood on the trans brake at 4500 and noticed I was there for a while, looked over & his 2nd beam isnt on yet. So i let off of the gas & I guess my thumb moved & I jumped a little, I looked & saw I was deep staged, but didnt see the red.
Next thing the lights are coming down so I hammered on it & let it go with a .244 R/t, a 1.580 60' @ 11.53 @ 123.97
Against a car that dialed a 10.53 & ran 10.55 @ 120 mph.

I need to find out why I have the MPH & not the time.

I think your '60 foots look a little slow still... just an observation.

1.580 60' @ 11.53 @ 123.97
Maybe a tenth more in the 60' is there, but the 124mph is good for a high 10 on a pretty flawless run, no?
So maybe a 1/2 second to play around with to see what it wants to get it there. Must be nice!
