Save my Z28
Ok guys, it's coming down to D-day and I've still got to find this car a new home. I've had to give my final notice on leaving my shop, and I've got nowhere to store her. A friend of mine has offered to take her off my hands, but I know his version of "take the car off my hands" means take her to the scrap yard. I really don't want this to happen; she is perfectly straight with no rust and would make someone a VERY nice project. Since I have had no luck selling it, I'm going to make the following offer to avoid sending her to the crusher. I will give this car FREE to anyone who shows up with a trailer and will give her a home! No joke, no catch, just give her a home.
Some details for any who aren't aware of her: She is a 1984 Z28, 305 and 700R4. Neither the motor or transmission are included as I never received them from the previous owner (he said they were junked years ago). I have a correct vintage 305 block and some misc. matching engine parts (if someone is interested in that kind of resto), but still no trans. I has a disc brake, open diff rear end, and come with a spare posi rear end for a carrier donor. Body is complete, but disassembled; and the interior is disassembled with the trash (moldy carpet, and shredded headliner) already thrown away. She is pretty much stripped, but she is accident and rust free, so she is the perfect platform for any kind of build. And that is all I want for her; someone to give her the home she deserves.
Here is a link to the picture thread I started for my build:

Thanks for looking.

I'm pretty sure I've got most of the plastics , but if you've got someone who's interested in the plastics, tell 'em they're gonna need a trailer, they come with a free car.
I'm not really wanting to part it out, because then I am still left with a hull that I can't do anything with. I really need to get rid of the whole thing, so if you know of anyone looking for a new project or drag car pass the word along, would ya?

I hope she gets rescued soon and doesn't get sent to the scrap pile, if i were in your shoes and shipping was an option i would definately consider parting it out if people could pay for the shipping as well. At least you would know that some pieces from it were going to good homes and good projects.

Re: Save my Z28
There would be quite a few take you up on the offer if you were in the Mid west!!
Nice work on the AC delete mod!!
Yes it would be heart wrenching to take it to a JY.
Some one would have a SOLID foundation for a DD, auto X, drag, pro tour, etc.
Best luck to you...

Thanks guys. If I had the money I would consider delivery to those ares, but then again if I had that kind of money I wouldn't have to be leaving my shop either.

Re: Save my Z28
Well guys, got some good news today. A friend of mine just got the ok from his "banker" to start a car project, so we spent today loading her up on a trailer. She is gone to a new home, and I am very pleased to not have been resposible for the death of a good F-body. Thank you to all who looked.
Sorry mcsslover1987, I just now got cleaned up and sat down at the computer.

I'm up in Susanville, it's about 2 hours east of Redding by way of highway 44. The times I've gone through Yreka it usually takes me a good 3 hours to get there. I am really happy as well, I hate seeing any solid project car going to the crusher.

Re: Save my Z28
Not a bad place to live really, being surrounded by a lot of country and mountain roads with low traffic it really is a good place to enjoy an automotive lifestyle. My '79 Camaro gets regular drives through the mountains and countryside. Heck, Summit is only an hour and a half away! Shipped orders usually arrive the next day, that's hard to beat.

Re: Save my Z28
I forgot there was a location in Sparks NV. I've been to the one in Ohio several times. Pretty cool place. If I ever end up with a Camaro, I'll have to go there and get my parts.
