heavy heart
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/...20081278.shtml
I have a heavy heart with this accident because it was my neices husband who caused it. She is totally beside herself right now as is my oldest brother and sister in law. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well as the Amish families who lost their loved ones and the injured.

"Eldridge was arraigned after the crash on five counts of criminally negligent homicide, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unsafe passing, speed not reasonable and prudent, and failure to keep right after passing. He was held on $250,000 cash bail or $125,000 bond."
Lucky that your niece wasn't with him. If he is truly remorseful towards the victims and his wife, he will never drink again when/if he gets out of prison.

Hey it's good to see ya posting Webee.
Yeah it looks like life in prison. But it wasnt intentional. even though he was intoxicated. I mean 10 years should be lesson learned. It would be for me. But yeah. It's a horrible thing to have to talk about and deal with.

I feel for mcsslover1987. It's hard to judge in these situations. Until you have something happen to a family member, you never know exactly how you will react emotionally. Many lives were lost. The Amish people as a whole (religion wise) forgive first then go on with their lives. His nieces life will never be the same. The emotional trauma she will have to endure is sometimes lost while the husband is held acountable for his actions. I have seen this all to often and hopefully the family will be there for her as well.

A 6th person died today. Yea my niece will have to go through some serious counseling. I think my brother and sister in law will too. I dont think anyone in my family is going anywhere. I just wish I could be there for them.

Prayers go out to you and your family, Duane! That is a sad situation to be in, but thankfully we have a powerful God looking down on us and can change, heal, fix, & rectify any and everything in our lives. Believe on Him! He is your refuge in times like these....
To all others, sorry to get preachy in here. My intent is not to push my spiritual beliefs onto others. So if I offended anyone, please accept my apology.
