I am looking for the 1982-1984 Power bulge hood. These years the hood was Aluminum, I am looking for one in good condition in the Norcal area. Let me know what you have, not looking to spend a fortune, as I know these are still pretty common in the junkyards. Shoot me a PM.

Uhhhhh FYI,99% of the '82-84 T/A '87-92 Formy buldge hood's made were steel.You have better luck geting #$%% by a Victoria secret model then finding a GM alunimun buldge hood lol I did help co-sell one to a VIP member on this site and I don't think you wanna know how much it sold for !!!

Thanks! I am pretty patient, so I am willing to wait for one. Things always work out if you wait long enough. Hell, I found a set of superram runners for sale by themselves, which I am sure is a lot more rare to find then this hood. Besides, I am stationed in Japan, and plan to be overseas for another 4 years I will have a friend pick it up if I can find out.

I was thinking about swapping one of those power bulge hoods onto my regular Firebird eventually.

I'm not particular to the rare alum, I just want to get a variant of the factory '84 striped decal put on.

Yeah, LS1 transplant into a V6.

I have a T/A hood on it now, but will prob want to go with something different since the GTA has that hood.

Will probably keep it blue and do that above decal in silver.

No rust, no bondo, no dents, and the corners are fine. Remember the car just sat. All it needs is a little prep, primer, paint and clear. Let me know if you want a pic. If you do Ill swing by my shop and take one for ya if you are serious.

Tim's 3rd gen? No. It was a blue like my old (and his current) 4th gen.

the the white with the blue bird on the bulge is bad azz always liked like color combo on it... theres already too many birds on the car anyways to get a big one on the hood lol.

Yes it originated from the '81 Turbo, but once the 3rd gen was born, the turbo was dropped and almost all 82-84 T/A's got the newly re-named and still functional "power bulge" hood. The later year Formula's like Bully's got the same style hood, but had a block off plate I believe.

that is a hard hood to find , it didnt come on all cars in those years and after 84 was only optioned on the firehawks , i believe they also made some of the flat hoods in alum as well but not sure on that, if you want more info just tell me

NEVER gonna find one !!! ,I have been dealing in '82-84 Firebird parts for YEARS now and the aluminum buldge is the the ULTRA ULTRA RARE "GREAT WHITE BUFFALO" of third gen parts I did come in contact with a aluminum bulge hood few years ago,And I regretfully helped a "SLIME BAG" sell it to a VIP member here on TGO and you WON'T believe what it sold for !!! .I do remember reading that a few other TGO members have mention that they have these hoods but NOT for sale and I can say I don't blame them lol.


Flat aluminum 82-84 hoods are in the "Catalogs" but I have never seen any inperson or have read of any reported.

yes sir , i found it GA, the guy told me it was an 84 TA , i havent checked any numbers on it though , just hauled it home and stashed it in the back yard . only reason i noticed is because i washed it before i put it up
