Re: Official 2012 Norcal Thirdgen Cruise to Santa Cruz Thread
Officially I've had email confirmations from about 15 people. Unofficially, we have over 30 people going through the facebook page, which includes a couple of confirmed people. Its impossible to tell how many will actually show up.
As for the T-shirts, deciding on a design has proven harder than I would have thought. So they will not be ready for the cruise.

Oh ok. And as for the shirt one with norcal thirdgen with the state shape and the star along with a 3rd gen IROC & GTA TRANSAM i say would be the best.

Re: Official 2012 Norcal Thirdgen Cruise to Santa Cruz Thread
So I found a place that I think will work well for all of us. Natural Bridges State Park (labeled "A") looks to have the scenic beauty we are looking for, coupled with ample parking. Just a heads up, parking within the park is $10/day, with a huge lot that will easily take all of us. There is also a large lot just outside the park, that is labeled "B" in the photo, as well as parking all down Swanton Blvd. Depending on the number of cars that participate, we can decide which lot will work best for us. But just plan on the $10.00 option. We can also avoid downtown Santa Cruz this way and squash any traffic concerns. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=541

Re: Official 2012 Norcal Thirdgen Cruise to Santa Cruz Thread
This is the route from the meetup point. We will have staged at all other locations already, and the various groups from North, East, and South, will all converge here, just as we did last year, and head out on the same route as we did last year. I have highlighted the route with directions on the link below.
http://goo.gl/maps/ZSlI
And this is an aerial image of the location where we will all meet before heading up 35 and starting the official cruise.
http://goo.gl/maps/uebk
Please zoom in to the area to get familiar with the location, and how to get there based on where you and your group are coming from.
Thanks all!

Re: Official 2012 Norcal Thirdgen Cruise to Santa Cruz Thread
By 9am: Meet at your respective regional locations (Anyone wanting to meet at my place, the North meeting location, can be there as early as 8am)
9:15am : Roll out of your regional meet spot to begin driving to the central meeting location @ 92 West just off the I-280.
9:45am : Arrive at central meet-up location, and communicate with any cars that have not arrived yet, wait for stragglers.
APPX 10am : Depart central meet-up location @92 West and start the cruise. This will give us a leisurely couple of hours to get to our destination.
APPX 10:30 : Stop at Four Corners for Gas, Bathroom, and other needs before continuing on the remaining 2/3's of the cruise.
APPX 12pm : Arrive at Natrual Bridges State Beach
APPX 12:30pm : Organize cars as close as possible for a group shot.
BBQ/Potluck?
B.S. and get to know fellow 3rd gen owners, etc.
The rest of the day is completely up to you all. However long you would like to stay, and if anyone wants to coordinate joint return trips for those of you with long drives home.

For those of you meeting here, PM me for my contact info if you want to give me a heads up when you arrive, in case I can't hear your car coming

Manteca, Stockton, Modesto, Tracy area.
Target parking lot in Lathrop, CA. 16858 Golden Valley Pkwy 95330
Take the I-5 to Louise Ave in Lathrop. Head west. Can't miss Target.
Meet at 7:10. Leaving by 7:30 am sharp! gives us 1.5 hours to reach SF which at that time on a Saturday morning should be more than enough time.
Bring 5 bucks for bridge toll fees.
If your not on the facebook page PM me if you want my #. It'd be nice to get an official headcount.
To make sure everyone see's this I am making a thread.

Re: UPDATES!!!!! Official 2012 Norcal Thirdgen Cruise to Santa Cruz Thread
HA! I would have done that back in the day, but not now.
If I can get the registration sorted, I'll get a temporary reg. to bypass a smog test for now. I really want to make this cruise.

It's hard to say definitively how many to expect. Some people always drop out. But it should be a good turnout, larger than last year.

Will, For the bbq part at the park, is someone going to bring enough hamburger meat to feed everyone or do you want us to bring our own? Thats alot of money for meat for one or 2 people to spend for 40-50 people to eat.

It's BYO everything. This way everyone is responsible for themselves. I've done this in the past, and the bigger the group, the harder it is to keep everyone happy and fed. This way if anyone doesn't eat, it's not the fault of anyone else. I'm bringing stuff for myself and my passengers.

Yea, I will post a reminder about the 10.00 entrance fee to the beach. If anyone doesn't feel comfortable paying the 10.00 bucks, there is plenty of parking just outside the park.

Nah, I wouldnt be staying in SC if I went to the show with friends. I'd either end up spending the night at a friends in San Fran, or driving up to Novato and staying with some friends there... or worst case, end up back in Vacaville...which would be more driving, but my bed beats someone elses couch lol.

Re: UPDATES!!!!! Official 2012 Norcal Thirdgen Cruise to Santa Cruz Thread
Hey guys, so John and I were discussing the option of having some walkie talkies scattered throughout the group to keep everyone together and up to date. He suggested Voxer, which is a touch to talk app, and I downloaded it this evening. It works great, and this will allow us to keep in touch during the cruise without having to go get 2-way radios. If you get a chance in the next few days, download it, and try it out. It's free, and I think it will be a great thing to have some Saturday, especially if part of the group becomes separated.
