Attended Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Had the '57, though, not the Camaro.

Ran in non-electronics Bonus race and DOT. Out first round in Bonus Saturday (slowed on me). In DOT, ran that 9.70 dial-in, full-steel '57 - ever seen DOT, mufflers, and parachute together on a 3600-lb car? I saw it go by my left side at 140 mph, but the win light went on in the right lane.

Next round a 12.81 dial-in 4th gen. He was .2-off, though, so that was an easy win.

Ever heard, "You don't win with bad lights, but red lights always lose"? Well, that's a fact. And, .472 is very red. End of day.

I wasn't taking a lot of notes, but thought I saw some 11-sec 4th gens. Didn't see the 9-sec 3rd gens that I've seen out before (one blown, one nitrous).

Running eliminations without a time trial that day, like we did Sunday, is "interesting", to say the least. But, if you stuck around, that white '83 Monte in the semi-finals made his first run of the show Sunday morning. The gold '67 Impala that went out 2 rounds earlier (but in the money), same story.

That's bracket racing!

I went and did not see any 3rd or 4th gens racing, but i did not stay that long. I dunno, for me it was not worth $20.

I agree about the $20 part. Went on Saturday, I only stayed for 3 hours, hoping to at least see some good vendors. There were no vendors selling the engine parts I have seen in the past. I was looking for some cheap 5.7" H-beams, and big heads. I saw the swap "meat" there was a guy who had his wife there selling for him had the prices written on cardboard. He wanted $1100 for new mystery canfields and $300 for a 58mm bbk/edelbrock TB (which I also need), I also saw a set of (7) really mangled I beams and a couple of complete TPI's (overpriced). I have found the rods for under $300 and the heads for around $860 (in iron) all over the internet but I had to make some phone inquiries. I will probably place my orders inside of next month. I have always thought of Super Chevy as easy meat in the bracket classes, but refrained from going due to the excessive #'s of cars. This year was only partially different the car count #'s didn’t seem to be excessive. I may actually race next year. it was like all around it was half a Super Chevy show that I have been to in the past, half the jet cars, half the wheelie cars, half the vendors, half the swap meet, half the show cars, but all of the nitro coupes were there at least. I saw a white with blue stripe 91 or 92 with juice and a green carbed 3rd gen bird (didn’t stay to see either run). Saw a handful of stock appearing irocs (missed their runs too). saw and talked to a very confused old man at the swap meet that was selling a 91 or 92 1LE or 1LE converted car with a Lingenfelter setup that told me the car was a COPO, I looked it over it had some LPE stuff maybe a complete engine, had a Richmond 5 speed, and a 9", but when he told me it had a 35 gal tank (didn’t see one) and went 200 MPH at the silver state (without a roll cage?). He wanted $25,000 for it. I knew the guy was an idiot when the first thing he asked me when I told him I had one like it, he condescendingly says; "oh I'm sure you've probably got two...”. I sez; "well actually..." (see sig)

I'm not really concerned about it if I was I would have followed up a little better someday we will get together. And the woodward cruise did rock it was the trip there that was a little hard on my nerves.
