Third Gens in Kansas?
Hey, I was wondering if there was anybody out there that lived in Kansas. I know there are a few that live in Topeka, but I don't know if they're aware of this Forum. If there are, just let me know where you're located. I live in Topeka KS, in case anybody was wondering.

Hey, I'm in Manhattan. Don't have a 3rd Gen, but I'm trying to use a lot of parts from one! TPI 383 in 1976 Blazer. Trying to run the wiring harness right now. Any locals have one I can look at for example?

hey Bluejae, got any pics of your cars? im living up here in emporia right now, just curious if ive seen any of them. Theres a pretty nice blue one, and a black/gold one that looks like it just came out of the show room.
I was up cruising up in topeka on the weekend, 2 years ago and a pack of about 5 3rd gens were up there, there was a super nice white one with a camcorder mounted in the center, i talked to them but cant remember where they said they were from, one of those towns a little ways from topeka i think.

Well it's been about a year since I saw him. I was at gas station and he rolled by and I took notice to the car because it was in very good condition and then I saw the camera mounted between the seats. Sounds like his car may be on the sluggish side, so he has to prove to everyone that he can win, if and when he does, lol.
It was nice though.

The Blacktop Nationals will be happening down here in Wichita this weekend. This is the second year for it and it was a very big show last year.

Re: Third Gens in Kansas?
Thanks, pretty much whats left to do on the 92 is pretty much everything... but right now my main thing is to get her running again...
I bought her back in October 2010 and have had her sitting in the garage and have been working on her when I get a chance. I picked her up for $500.00 and the kid I bought it from bought it from a tow recovery place and never had keys made and tried to bypass the vats and what not. He said he got it running for a couple of months and then one day it wouldn't start so he decided he didn't want to mess with it anymore.
To make a long story short. I let her sit over the winter so I could build up some cash and do some research on what I needed/how to fix some of the problems. Early spring I replaced the ignition cylinder and had a new key w/ vats code cut from my local dealer and then changed out the fuel pump and fuel filter and she fired right up and sounded great. I then started working on getting my exhaust put back together and the steering column put back and after all that was done went to start her up and all of the sudden she wouldn't idle and would shut off after a few seconds. (this was back in early june). Now I can't get her to start at all.

Re: Third Gens in Kansas?
I'm not really sure whats going on and really where to start. After I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter she started right up and ran great, engine sounded strong.
Then, I worked on putting the steering column back together and didn't start it for about 3 weeks and when I was finally done I started it back up it would turn over and run but then die after 20-30 seconds. I did get a code 54 which states low voltage at the fuel pump but I've checked the connection and I'm getting 13 volts when the pump starts to prime. and I've also checked the fuel pump relay which tests fine.
I did get it to idle a little longer when I took out the Coolant Temp Sensor. thinking that was the problem I replaced that and it went back to only running for 20-30 seconds.
now when I try to start it, it will crank but won't start. Now that the weather is getting nicer I will be making time to work on it and hopefully get it started and running.

Re: Third Gens in Kansas?
KSFBA is gone, but the Kansas Thirdgen forum is still up at http://www.kstgo.org. Unfortunately no one uses it... The domain name is expiring in October, but it'll still be accessible through the long address http://kansastgo.49.forumer.com/index.php
If people actually used the forum, it'd be a lot easier to find local people with similar interests.

No gathering, but there are a ton of car shows--two here in Lawrence last Saturday. Next week Eudora on Saturday and here in Lawrence again on Sunday (the antique club is featuring Camaros).
Drop by and say hello if you have nothing better to do.
