HEy Jeremy

Hey how do i set the lash on the vavles? i'm worried about it cuz i have a score mark on my HEI system so i know where to put it back into place so i don't mess up the timeing.... shoud i ptut he heads on and the intake and the HEI then put the push rods in tighten them down and then "Bump" the motor over and tighten then again then start the motor (howing it will start) and then tighten then down till i here then stop taping and then do a half turn?

HELP ASAP!!

PS if i get there on time i will do the cooking. :-D

Start at number one cyl and work your way thru

if your confused do number one intake then number one exhaust

just roll the motor over till u see the pushrod move then adjust accordingly

then proceed to do cyl 2 and so on

then repeat for all cyl and recheck.........should also be outlined in any haynes/chilton or factory manual as well

Jeremy
PS doing it one cyl at a time is alot of turning the motor but u wont get confused either so just go slow and be careful

U do it the same way as the motor was fresh
aint no difference
just do a cyl at a time so u dont screw up

doesnt matter as long as u do them all

put a socket and a rathcet on the crank with the plugs out and set it normally

it was at 7:00am today... i'm just about to bolt on the intake and set the lash on the vavles. just have to torque down the passager side head then put the intake on. run it (open heads for 15 mins) then retorque bolt on the headers and i'm good to go. so if i make it i'm going to be late getting there.
