Biggest club I know is right here :-)
We are definitely the, if not the most active board here for as far as members helping out and hanging out in general, whether its a few or 40 :-)

Anyway, I suspect you're either talking about
Cecil. One of the coolest, nicest, most helpful guys you'd ever meet in your entire life.
The late, forever remembered Jay Bower. The funniest guy this side of the Mississippi.
Or Jon. Kinda quiet, but knows a lot about building race engines. And I mean A LOT!!!
Anyway..... I would suspect that Heath (4MULA88) was chordally inviting you to take at look at OUR club (he and I are members). Perhaps you’d be interested. You’re more than welcome to meet any of us and check it out. We are always welcoming new people, unless you **** us off.
BTW.. for some reason the link didn't work for Heath.

I've been trying for the past four years to get a car club off and running. It's a pretty open forum with the exceptions of foreign crap. I've dubbed it Evolution, car & truck club.
Too bad everyone that wants to be in my club is always busy

I work at BASF in Joliet (actually Channahon) and right now there's a production operator position open. There are 4 guys in movements (which is what I do) that have passed the test to fill that position. I just took the test today, and if I passed that'll be 5 guys.
Anywho, if one of us gets the job there will be an opening in movements (aka Logistics Operator Position).
What does it involve? Moving train cars around the rail yard using a locomotive or a shuttle wagon, unload and load trucks, and clean train cars.
~$12-13/hr.
12 hrs a day, rotating shift from 6 to 6.
Week 1
Mon & Tues Days
Wed & Thurs Off
Fri, Sat & Sun Nights
Week 2
Mon & Tues Off
Wed & Thurs Days
Fri, Sat & Sun Off
Week 3
Mon & Tues Nights
Wed & Thurs Off
Fri, Sat & Sun Days
Week 4
Mon & Tues Off
Wed & Thurs Nights
Fri, Sat & Sun Off
Then it starts all over again.
Benefits are pretty good. I don't know if you read my post about the GM Supplier Discount, but we get that, along with discounts from Nissan, Dodge/Chrysler, Ford, Subaru, and on Dell Computers.
The insurance plans are pretty good, but thanks to our dick head governor requiring malpractice insurance for doctors, health insurance took a pretty big jump this year (going into 2005).
There are 8 Holidays with pay. If you're scheduled off that day you get 8 hrs straight time. If you’re scheduled to work on a holiday, it's automatic overtime (1-1/2) plus the 8 hours holiday pay; same as working 26 hrs straight time. If you work overtime on a holiday it's basically double time (they word it differently in the corporate world) plus holiday pay. It's the same as working 32 straight hours, but you only work 12.
There are also what they call "Floating Holidays" which you get to pick 2 days of the year (doesn't matter when) and you get paid 8 hrs holiday for them. They did that for people that are used to getting holidays like Martin Luther King Jr. day, Yom Kippur, and holidays like that off. Instead of having to "honor" those days, they just turned them into 2 floaters that you can use whenever you want.
You also earn 6.67 hours of vacation time every 4 weeks, max of 80hrs /yr. What's nice about that is on your week where you only work Wed & Thursday, you can take those two days off ( 24 hrs vacation) and actually have 7 days off. Plus you can roll over 40 vacation hours into the next year. So you could actually accumulate 120 hrs vacation time for one year if you want. That's 10 days off. If you wanted to take those consecutively, and since you actually only work 7 days in a 2 week period, you could actually have 3 weeks off in a row.
And trust me, they let you do that. There are guys that have been there more than 10 yrs who take 1-1/2 to 2 months off at a time.
Anyway, if you're interested and one of us gets the job as a Production Operator, I'll let you know where and when to apply.
Some of the requirements (that I know of) are; you have to be 18yrs old, have a HS Diploma or a GED, a valid drivers license, and drug free.

ok im really really in need of a job i just went out to hodgkins,il and filled out an app at certified warehouse to work in the warehouse. they might call me back might now but knowing my luck they never will. and in about 2 hours im going to some autobody paint supplyer shop to try getting a job delivering paint. but if i can get a job at that place then hell yeah. o and find out if the "really do" check for a dip or ged. i know some places say that the require it but then they dont ask for you to bring proof. cause at this moment im in the process of taking my ged and i need a job now because i cant stay at my parents house anymore and i got a car to pay for.

They never asked to see my HS Diploma.
I would guess it's one of those "if he says he has it...." things.
But yea. When I find out more I'll let you know.
I'm working tonight, Sat night and Sunday night. I'm waiting for tonight so I can go in and find an email that says if I passed the test.
It's an internal email system so there's no way for me to tell from here.

No. K3 is Kankakee
You can't say KKK because that might get you shot.
It's also know as Tri-City, Tri-K, Key-Land, and River Valley.
Thanks Elmer. It's nice to finally have a job. My finger's doing well, and is using my natural ruberband again, sorta. I have limited movement with it by itself. I can only straighten it with the help of my middle finger. But it's cool. At least it's better than it was.
Everything is at a stand still right now with the cars. Working, making money, and getting ready to work mainly on the house. Once we get it "done" (it'll never be), A garage will be next. 12' ceilings and a car lift is in my future.
Glad to hear you're doing well. Fly High!!!

Well. There's nothing wrong with applying anyway.
But it's up to you. Let me know.
And if anyone else is interested let me know. I never limit opportunity to just one person.
