Thanks for the info. Ill probably run 100 when i get the new heads and run a 200 shot.
Sounds like we are definetly going to have a board shootout next year. Maybe i should do some more winter mods.

The Speedway in Alsip does not have race gas anymore. Not that I need it but my buddies Buick does and we went up there and they dont sell it anymore. Thought that would help someone out.
I went to Gas City's site since I know the station on Cicero right off 294 in Alsip has it I found this list on their site.
Gas City Locations
Hope it helps too

E85 is 106 if you're smart enough to tune for it.

Engine: I have one that runs ;)
Transmission: Caged hamster that runs really fast
Axle/Gears: They are round, I know that much
according to some GM manufacturing training i went thru....it is 113, but its only 87,000 BTUs (or whatever that rating is) while regular premium gas is 114,000......which is why a car needs to be tuned 30-40% richer to equal it all out

Yepp, Pump 15 at Gas City on Butterfield and 59, It was funny the first time I went there, The cashier asked can I help you, Yes I want to prepay for pump 15 the 100 octane, and she looked at me wierd and said the "racing gas?", I was like haha yeah, It doesn't sound as funny now but you had to be there, Not really sure if my car needs it, well I know it doesn't need need it but it did seem to accerlerate and rev quicker, plus I always like the idea of using 100 octane

Actually most commercially available is anywhere from 105 to the 111-112 range.
There isnt one number that would be accurate in all conditions.
Your looking at roughly 30% more fuel to compensate for the change alone.
U can gain some of this back by higher compression, etc.
Not all, only some.
The cost difference is close enough to straight gasoline and lack of regular availability(more stations are planning to carry it), that its not really worth building a conventional engine for as of yet.
Might change in the future, but E85 is a rip :-) Hard but true news, if you look at the farming subsidies, tax breaks, and ad infinum E85 is only marginally cheaper and not as efficient. If any of this changes in the anytime near future any small benefits will go poof out the window.
It can go either way, but till its more concrete in the real world, the cost difference from one to the other is kind of mute.
I will make acception for boosted applications :-) Cooling effect and higher octane rating is always a good thing. Then again so is a dedicated alchohol system and pump gas
later
