Engine cranks but will not start 5.7 1992 Formula

1992 Formula 5.7 liter. 137k miles. I don't drive the car often because it is in a different state. I hadn't been to this house in Indiana where the car is at in one year due to the covid situation (I live mostly on the west coast). I only had a little bit of fuel in the tank (didn't realize that I left the car that way) and when I started it, it ran for a while idling in the garage, before I turned it off I hit the gas pedal to rev it a bit and then it died right then. I am thinking that it was on the last bit of gas in the line. I filled up the tank and now the car cranks but will not start. I have a new battery, new alternator, and new fuel filter installed. Is it possible there is air in the fuel line that can't get out? I primed the fuel line several times by turning the key to run and off then run, etc. It makes the sound like the fuel pump priming but it won't start. Sometimes it sounds like it is about to catch and start. I tried some starting fluid spray but no go.
I am thinking to drain the fuel line by disconnecting the fuel filter again and at the same time make sure the fuel pump is actually pumping out gas. Any help would be appreciated on what else I could check. As far as I know I don't have an error code and check engine is not showing. I am thinking to buy a code reader next time I visit the house in May.

Need to check fuel PSI and check for spark.. It could be so many things, just need to take it one thing at a time.

if it will not catch and fire with starting fluid then your issue is spark or timing, because you gave it fuel in the form of starting fluid.

you don’t need a code reader. Just a paper clip. You can jump two pins on the aldl connector and read any codes on the dash like Morse code.

It turned out to be the distributor. It was a coincidence that it happened when the car was idling seemingly just fine. I tapped the gas a bit then it died. Never started again after that. It cranked hard, but no start. No codes were shown and no check engine light flashing. I took it to a local mechanic and with their computer they determined that the signal to run stopped at the distributor/ignition control module. New distributor and module and now she runs great again. Thanks to all those who reach out to help me. Best regards.
