Guess I'll be the first...

That's right guys, I'm gonna be the first to admit I was wrong. I thought I could make it, but due to gas prices, among other things, I will not be attending. Just thought I'd give a couple guys that I had talked to a heads up. I'm sure I'll get some bashing for this, but sometimes you just can't quite make it. It would be over 1200 mile round trip. I'm currently getting 10 miles to the gallon. Do the math. I wish I could go so much, this was what I was looking forward to all year. Now I have nothing. Oh well, not like you'll miss one black IROC up there anyway. I hope you all have fun, and I can't wait for pics. Take care all, and have safe trips.

Sorry to hear that, I was looking forward to going for a ride in a Iroc with some *****. There's always next year I guess and if for some reason Denny doesn't have it, I'll have a get together at my place.

Now I know its bad, but its not that bad here in IL. In fact, less than 5 minutes from the road you take to Denny's its $2.09 at shell. If you want to fill up there before you guys get to Denny's, its in Beecher, if your coming down 394 South, keep going instead of turning left to get to Denny's, follow the road for another 5 minutes south for gas, and theres a Phillips 66 another minute south of that for the same price! The Shell you drive by down 394 is about 10 cents more. I'll post the price of gas again on friday, so you get an idea.

Its Friday, and the gas prices here in Beecher are still $2.09. Beecher is about 5 minutes south of 394, continue going straight, and it'll be Route 1. Watch yourself on 394, cops have been out like crazy. Construction Zone is a speed limit of 45, i have seen quite a few people get pulled over already. See you all there!

I won't be able to make it either.

I just started a new job (finally), and I have a 3 day weekend (paid Holiday on Monday ) but I'm heading down to KY to take my son to see my parents (Grandma and Grandpa).

Screw the gas price excuse. At $2/gallon, that's about 50¢ more than it was last year, multiplied by 30 gallons of gas (which is what it's going to take me to get there AND back) is only $15 more than it cost me last year to go see my parents. Even if it was a full $1 more, it would cost me $30 more.

I don't understand why people get all bent out of shape about the gas prices.

Anyway, I'm sorry I'll miss it. I do still want to buy 2 tickets for the car though. I guess I'll email Denny.

No. I wasn't speaking specifically about you, just people in general. I just got tired of hearing about it every morning on the radio on my way to work.
