On the way to the motel after Miami Subs I looked at my alternator gauge and it was on 8 . My lights started dimming and I was almost to hotel and had to turn them off and drive . Still just barely made it . Woke uo Sunday morning and had enough battery power to start car so I tried to make it to PepBoys and onkly made it a few miles and got stuck on 57 North . Had to call a tow truck and wait and it started pouring . Tow truck took me to PepBoys and tow truck driver got me some tools from his shop and when he came back I was changing the alternator and it was pouring . Got soaked even inside my shoes . Then the car did same thing . So I took the car to PepBoys garage . They said the new alternator was bad . So thay put a new one in . Same problem ! Finally found a bad spot in the ground wire . Was stuck a total of 6or 7 hours . The worst thing is I was close to Denny's but didn't know his last name to call him . Anyway after that made it home fine . Hope nobody tops that story .

Yeah that sounds pretty bad. We got to find a way to get everyones cell number and name for next year, especially for the out of town people.

Im the dumbass who called Dennys house 4 times for directions. I could find Illinois but it was all uphill from there. I finally flagged down a towtruck driver who led me to Dennys road and got us there. He was HUGE and had more ink than a stack of newspapers. He took time out of his day to make a few phone calls and drove us about 20 miles to Dennys road. Maybe he was bored but I needed help. He even had a Hyundai excel on the rollback that was going to some shop for service. Big props to the friendliness of the locals up there.
