Suggestion for next year..
While I was there, I was looking at the cars and I think it would be a good idea next year to have name tags for the cars. We could put the name of the owner and their user name (if applicable) and just leave it in the windshield or something. I think it would make it easier to associate cars with people and names, and also if someone needs to move, no one has to go walking around asking everyone who owns that car.
Anyone else have any suggestions for next year?

I think that is a great idea Andy, I remember you, Jeff and me talking about that at Denny's.

I think name tags for people with their real name and screen name would be a good idea. Also, maybe some activities or something to keep more people there. I think everyone was getting a little bored around 4. Maybe a cruise after lunch or something.

Yeah, I think people were getting bored as well and thats why some left early. Later a few of us went to Miami Subs. I think it would be awesome if 40+ thirdgens invaded the place

activities
I just thought of 2 games we could maybe have for next year. 1 is the horseshoe one and 2 is the bean bag toss. Whenever I go to family and friend parties, they seem to be a big hit plus everyone should know how to play.

sounds like good ideas. i think a little banner on the back window, or front window like they do at the world of wheels would go a LONG way for this. Put up some pics, on the 8x11 sheet and tape it to the winshield, or drivers window.

I think we need a cruise after lunch too. Just standing around looking at the same cars for 8 hours gets kinda boring after a while. Tiring too. And I also agree on the horse shoe/bean bag/volleyball. Should make some awards/trophies too. Even if they're cheap.

Hehe, I know how to make people know who I am.
I'll just make a collage of signature I've done for different people, slap it on the back of a T-shirt and see if people don't recognise me then. ^_^
Perhaps a game of foot ball in the back or something like that.
I'm definitely up for the lunch cruise though. That sounds like it would be fun.

I suggested keeping the camaros and birds seperate to Denny but he said he liked them mixed in together. I do think it can get boring if there are no activities.
And the cruise needs a director to organize it. I think more would of went if there was planning. As it was we waited ti late to get the good spots at Miami subs and we really had no clear directions, just follow the leader stuff. I know I ran 2 lites to keep up.
Maybe starting next year closer to dusk like at 3 instead of 11 would keep more people around.
Also I could barely hear the music. Let it play that 80's music.
Trophies and awards would keep interest and really are not that expensive. Several catagories could be created like best show, best stock, best modified, best interior, best wheels, best paint job, etc.
The raffle was a good idea and I am sure the winner is loving his $50.00 dollar car. I believe next year the car is an 1982 pace car. Interesting. We just need more activity besides the raffle.
This gathering has grown since the first year in the rain and with growth must come creativity. We can help Denny if he want's to make this fest really into something national. But it will require planning and more effort so Denny does not have to be a one man band.

Definately need name tags showing screennames and real names on t shirts & driverside seat bottoms. As for the cruise I am one of the people who left for boredom. We were going to stay for the weekend but it seemed like there was no specific plan for a cruise route, time or leader. I am willing to come a day earlier next year to help Denny out with anything that is needed(prep, parts setup, layout, planning or anything). I didn't offer this year because it sounded like the locals had it covered. I asked for 3 days off because I thought this was going to be a large event. My boss was amazed when I showed up at his house the same day as the show with his parts order(yes I have a cool ThirdGen owner boss).
Next year the friday nite pre-party has to go down. I will buy the kegs if everyone else is broke from projects. I want to hear kill stories, car trouble stories and the chicks you forgot their name stories. Being from far away I didn't know anyone except Denny and was happy to meet the people I did meet(Jason,Tony and Gary). I had a great time and look foward to next year with nametags and more stuff to do.

There is no such thing as having disposable income when you have a project car. If you're not spending money on it anymore, project completed or abandoned

Some suggestions that I have
1) Change the date to mid late june. Memorial day is nice but , the badside is every memorial day its either raining or the temperature sucks. People that work and have family rarely get to have 3 days off from work generally do things like camping or travel somewhere during memorial day. Since it is a 1 day event any weekend would work.
2) Get a foreigien car, hand some mallets out to folks let them go to town on it , that let some steam out
3) Maybe a dunk tank, or a softball game witha beer barrel at second base. You have to drink one before you can run to third. You could make the glass smaller so you don't have to worry about the person being to tanked
4) Setting 2 admisssion rates. $50 dollars if you want in on the raffle for the car, $20 dollars if you don't want in on the raffle of the car.
I didn't make it to your fest this year . My car needs some dire suspension work and the funds aren't there for this till the end of the year. I really need a place to pollute my 3 year old with about cars
So I shall be there next year.

Also, I know as long as we continue to have a cruise involved we won't provide any alcohol at the party. If you want to bring your own that's fine but if we supply the beer and somebody goes on the cruise drunk it could really create some problems.
I also know that there will only be one set price for tickets. Basically, buying a ticket gets you in. Otherwise, it would get to be too complicated dealing with a the different prices.
I agree with what other people have said. The party is still about a year away so getting the money shouldn't be a problem for anybody. If somebody REALLY wants to attend it shouldn't be a problem coming up with the money.
