This post is set up for people to organize caravans to Thirdgen Fest from the north. You can make plans to meet up with other cars and cruise down together.

Dont know how far north many of you are coming but I live on the Northwest Side of Chicago and I know you may go around the city, but if you want to avoid tolls let me know, we can use my house as a pit stop and we can cruise thru downtown on the way down to Denny's, maybe stop for a photoshoot or 2....either way I live off of where 90 and 94 come together, shoot me a PM if anyone is interested in doing this

PLUS I know how to get to Denny's....so no getting lost here!!

it depends, if you want to pay tolls you can go around Chicago which may be a bit quicker, or if you want to come down thru the city you can do that, but traffic usually stinks around holiday weekends. if you come thru the city i am willing to use my house as a pit stop on the way to denny's. plus i know where he lives and going thru the city is a nice trip if you have never seen it

What would the total cost in tolls be?

a rough guess would be in the 5-10 bucks range.....i an not 100% what the tolls are or how many, but that would be a safe estimate, but it may not save you any more time for the simple fact that when you need to get on to a different highway south of the city there will be traffic galore because of the holiday weekend and it is all under construction, unless you leave early enough to avoid alll that

there's a lot of less than show quality cars there to put it in a nice way, i've brought my car there one year with 5 different shades of black and charcoal and no one seemed to care. It's more about hanging out and getting to know local car guys than having show quality paint.

Sounds like I might be able to make it this year as well. 2 years ago when I went we met up in Oak Lawn and went from there. Does that sound like a good meeting point for anyone? We can meet at my dad's shop which is right on Southwest highway just a little south of 95th if you guys want. My car wont be pretty but it will be driveable. If you guys want to meet up there, let me know.

I was in state last year, but I was too busy to go and the car wasn't legal. My shop is right across the street from the Tinley Roller rink, its called Carey's Car Care. Stop by sometime and check it out. I just got a new addition to the family last night, a 91 Formula (I think, it doesnt say Formula but I think thats what it is). It has a locked up 305 TPI motor in it, so I am going to swap in a 350 hopefully before the fest. The body is in better shape then the IROC , it has t-tops, and its black, which is a prerequiset for me to own it If all goes right, I will have both of my cars at the fest. If you guys want to meet up at either our shop in Oak Lawn or here in Tinley, let me know, I'm open to either one.

How about everyone who trailers unloads at the gas station a few miles up the highway?? I plan on doing that so I can technically "drive" my car to Denny's. Whose with me?? I have a 6" cowl hood, loud exhaust, some sort of non-street tires by then, big cam, and some other not legal things....I am doing it, so lets all go down in flames together if needs be right??

Even if I have a 305 TBI? I have had an itchen to run open headers. So run open headers down that stretch of road to Denny's house?

Problem with that Kev is I will have to go way out of my way unless I go north to go south. However with the way the Dan Ryan is all F'ed up with the constuction I might just do that

sounds like your pressure regulator is bad or you have a bad vacuum hose going to the regulator.....it maybe a quick fix it may not, catch me when you are down here and i am sure there are others who have got an idea on it too
