If you all really want a meet in the middle then do it in the real middle. Quit saying middle as if it exists somewhere east of the middle. This spot is the real middle. It is the state of Kansas. It is not that close to me, but it is more equidistant east coast to west coast. I want to see as many people as possible, nobody can complain that this location is unfairly closer to anyoneelse because it IS IN THE MIDDLE!

In the state of Kansas there are Tracks in:

Topeka (Heartland Park)
Wichita (Wichita International Raceway)
Arkansas city (Mid-America Dragway),
Great Bend (S. R. C. A. Dragstrip formerly; Great Bend Motorplex)

why dont we have two events ............. An eastcoast nationals and a west coast nationals. And have them like a month a part so people from both east and west coast can go to both if they want. Just a thought

I dont want to see two events, I want to make my way to one event to see everyone that turned up. I don't want to have to go to two to see everybody. This is why I have suggested a "real" middle. It gives canadian, east coast, west coast, northern states, and southern states people a equal distance to drive to get there. I suggest this because it will increase the number of people actually attending. Its a hard deal for some of these people to even think about going. Taking the time off, getting thier vehicles there, financial concerns. Why add insult to it by making the event any further than any other person's home? Put it in the middle and nobody can say, "it will just be the east coast guys" or "west coast guys".

Does anyone have some constructive problems with the real "middle" location area I have suggested?

No matter where it winds up being, most of the people who go will be from that general area. If its on the west, there will be more westerners than easterners. If its in the middle, there will be more people from the middle. If its in the east, there will be more easterners. You cannot please everyone. And since Mark is the only one stepping up to plan it, I think its up to him where he wants it.

LFN AT U will still be having a Memorial Day gathering at his house in Crete, IL on Memorial Day weekend for anyone interested in coming.

joshp14 will be having a gathering at his house in Iowa in mid-June and all are invited to that too.

Unless you guys want to plan a gathering of your own, just go to one or even all of those if you want to.

anyplace...

...is fine for me. I mean, to be honest about ****.....I agree with the whole meaning of doing a big drive from wherever people live just to have a fun time with cool people with the same cars. Being an ex-hardcore *****(Nissan freak!)... SuperStreet Mag. & NOPI have their "NOPI Nights" & "HIN(Hot Import Nights)" gatherings....for soley the same purpose as we would have ours....only with ****-mobiles and not some ADM(my own anti-***** slogan: American Domestic Model )cars.
Other than that, HOPEFULLY, I'll have bought a new engine for my T/A by then & it'll be up and running! Me and my gorgeous fiancee ( :hail: ) would love to meet some people into 3rd gens, as well as some if not most of the MI crew!

I think the "real" middle would be Oklahoma or Nebraska (unless you include Hawaii). So pick a city! OK.....I'll learn to read soon, I promise. Kansas City, Here I come.

Mark, if you should decide to have it in Frederick again, it would make me happy! Since you are the one taking the initiative to put the event together, whatever you decide will be okay with me.

I liked the idea about organizing it around similar events. Camaros at Carlisle (PA) is scheduled for June 18-20, 2004. I've never been to it, but I've been wanting to get there one of these days. It would make for an interesting convoy from Frederick to Carlisle!

That is true Denny has the best selection of thirdgen stuff ever...if you took all the junk yards around here and put them together..he would still have more parts...and they are all nice and neat and put up in his basement...i go to his partys..always have fun there....he has soooo much land it is awesome...and he draws a great group of people to his partys.....just my 2 cents lol

where else can you drink and party...park your cars on the grass..then go into someones house and shop for hours in there basement that is full to the top with only thirdgen stuff... Denny is great:hail: :hail:

I'm also going to throw in a vote for St Louis MO. Gateway is a nice facility. St Louis is alot easier to navigate than Chicago or Vegas. And offers alot to do.

I say you guys should throw up a poll with all suggested cities and let the figures determine where it's held though.

I am pretty darn sure Denny offered up his place for the Nationals ANYTIME, not just memorial day. He was perfectly willing to make them seperate events.

No dang cell phone for me next year

I made it to the WV/MD line last year and had to return home for a family crisis. Mark did such a great job organizing 2003, I say make it easy on him. MD again would suit me fine, but I will say Charlotte isn't such a bad idea either!
The good thing about MD again is, if you hold it in the same location each year, soon the local population and businesses get used to it and become involved and this leads to donations like food, drinks, advertising, prizes, etc...just my thoughts.
Bottom line, with no BS, if it touches VA, I'll be there, any further...gotta skip it!

Don't want to abuse my bird! Keeping it running good and looking sharp with over 145,000 miles, everything original (except the plugs, filters, sound sys, etc). Yes, I could trailer it...have to find a trailer, big pita. Like I said...MD, NC, TN,WV,KY, VA....I'm there! Now, look at all those choices I gave.

Well come now........... that beast has a long life a head of it man they live to 190-210K miles....After that they may run but then there and oil guzzling heap by 200K miles.......Mine never used any oil till it hit 187K miles then it guzzled like a some b*tch then fiallt blewup at 190,500mile's........But it never leaked it and didn't somke so i'm not sure where it all went.....But that was the 350TBI in the 91GTA....The L-98 in the 91GTA spun rod bearing's #7 & #6 as well as drop 2 valve's on cylinder #5 an#3 with only
37,200miles.........The 350TBI Spun #7 tod bearing at 188,800 miles but it didn't start Knocking bad till 190,500miles is when i gave up driving it saidup it's toast........Built a nice 540hp 406TBI engine for it now building the rest of the car up....

My 87 GTA has some issue's of it's own But it's also got and L-98 But i think it's about done too well it's tired anyway at 125,000 only running 16.11's yeah i can safly say it's tired but it hasn't had a tuneup in 10+year's so that is my first thing i'm going to do this spring....

Now what dose your Bird have in it?? LG-4?? LO-3??? LB-9???LH-0???

I could only wish!!! It's the V-6. When it does die, you can bet there is some horsepower in its' future.

Then V-6's really rip with a cam shaft from PAW and some 3.73's or 4.11 gear's... there was a guy here that had a 3.1L-V-6 with a cam and 4.56 gear's he was running 14.20's in the 1/4 mile car was a strong competator on the street.....

But he has a built LO-5 waitting to go in it when the 3.1V-6 dies.

so v-6's can be fast......

Mine is the 191 c.i. V-6 LHO, Van Nuys mfg. Even though what I find is the SSA / XS models were dropped in late 1989, mine seems to be identical, so, not sure about the model, other than base with T/A effects. I have read the V-6 boards and thought about trying some mods. If it made that big of difference with the one you are taling about, maybe I should quit thinking and start doing!

Yeah.......

He didn't do much to it Just a CAM and had the head's redone opened up his intake manifold ......

ran a 2-1/4" true dual Exhaust on it...

5spd manual tranny and 4.56 gear's with some 245/60R15's.....

He waled all over my L-98 350TPI with it so I'd have to believe his claim of 14.20's....
