Nats '05

Thanks to some prodding from other people looks like there will be a Thirdgen Nationals '05.

I'm not going to be as involved this year, and ES87Iroc is going to be in charge of a lot of the planning. Most likely it will be end of May (not 100% sure yet) more details to come

It's going to be in MD again (sorry for those out west) but no matter where it is, there will be people that aren't happy with it.

Most likely it will be in the surroudning areas of Baltimore, MD.

For those that attended '03 it was a blast and I had so much fun. This year, there won't be as many activities most likely (such as vendors) but this is in an attempt to keep the cost as low as possible or none at all.

May....ewwwww...doubt if I can make it, we refuel one of the reactors in that month and I'm locked in to work for 8 weeks straight, no vacation.

Glad to assist with the shirts again but I will need a DEFINITE NUMBER of shirts to order, had a hell of a time getting rid of all of them in '03.

Hope you all have fun!

Ed

Just in case you guys are looking for a site I have a few in mind. There is a popular hot rod hang out in harford county called the Big M drive in . They usually have at least one car show there a week. It is a little low tech though.
Also every friday night in churchville off rt 22 there is a huge gathering of roughly 75-120 cars just to hang out. plus they do have shows there on some weekends. It works out great. They are in a huge closed department stores parking lot that is also attached to a roy rogers. It all asphault with plenty of lighting for night gatherings. Right on a main drag.

Thought I could help

Why May? Can't you at least give anyone from the West Coast a chance? Wait until College is out so anyone with more then a day drive isn't missing Thur-Fri classes.

Glad to see there will be a 05.

Depends on quarter or Semester, I think schools are split about 50/50 on that.

However, that is reason, Mark, for it to be in May

It looks like the Nationals will always be on the east coast that's why we have Thirdgen Fest in the Midwest.

I vote June/July.......

Cut and pasted in here too:

Here's the plan:

Track Day
July 23rd
Cecil county Dragway
http://www.cecilcountydragway.com/
1916 Theodore Road
Rising Sun, Maryland 21911

Show Day
July 24th
North Point State Park
http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publicla...northpoint.html
North Point Road
Edgemere, MD 21219

Directions will be ironed out and forthcoming.

TGN Costs
$3 Entry per car into park (paid directly at gate)
$10 TGN 05 per car show cost
$10 ea person, kids 14 and under are free (Lunch included) [you will be provided with an armband on check in for easy ID]

Cecil County Dragway Costs
$35 Track admission to race
$10 Spectator admission

We are NOT renting the track out exclusivly, this will be a Saturday TnT from 10-6. Elims start at 3. To rent the track out for this event only was NOT anywhere close to cost effective.

Cookout lunch is provided with admission.

T-shirts will be $16ea or 2 for $30.

A list of local hotels/motels will be posted soon along with other local odds and ends.

Awards are Camaro class/Firebird class/non-thirdgen class all with 1st/2nd/3rd places.

Cars. Non thirdgen domestic cars are welcome and will have a seperate class. All classes will be judged on attendee votes. [vote form will be provided on check-in]

Any questions/comments/etc just PM me.

Thanks and I hope to see ya there!

The 23rd I have some grudge matches to settle at MIR w/ EFA members. The GTA gets no respect from 4thgens, so I shall layeth the smackage down. But I might be able to make the 24th. Is that just a show and cookout?

There is a camaro class/firebird class/non thirdgen class. No sub classes this year, possibly in the future though if there is enough interest.

Sweet! Hopefully we will not have to push any cars uphill for two miles. At least it was cheap entertainment. LoL
