Went to the rack. Need opinion on times.

now I know my year for the 350 TPI motors were not the fastest. But I figure I do better then this. Take in consideration it was my first time at the track and I was nervous as help but My first run was this
r/t- 1.39
60 -2.273
330- 6.374
1/8-9.791
mph-71.94
1000-12.741
1/4-15.224
mph-90.80
the second run I wasn't so nervous and I did get a better launch but It was at night and I let off the gas like 10-20 ft before the line cause I could see.
r/t-.911
60-2.121
330-6.246
1/8-9.677
mph-71.59
1000-12.642
1/4-15.161
mph-88.76
I'm gonna take my car to the track and try again and hopefully get a 14.9 or 14.8 which is where I would like to be. Since I won't be so nervous and won't let off the gas before the line maybe I can do it. And for a stock IROC-z that only came with 225 hp do you think those times are really bad??

A couple of fixes here for you The 87 350 was 230hp (yes I know you are 5hp off)
My 87 Iroc runz 14.686s on her best day thats a stock engine no mods all but the stage 2 chip.

Normally I run 14.7s in her & I am pulling somewhere around 235 to 240 hp out of her. The times i pulled the 14.6s I was pulling 246hp.

Actually, Krazzy, he is correct. `88 was the first year it was rated at 230hp. (courtesy thirdgen.org tech data)

Although, the GTAsource page has conflicting numbers and says that in 87 (210 for the GTA, i figure IROC's were 5-10hp more)
88 GTA-225, iroc, 230? Either way, don't think '87 was 230.

Anyone have a definitive source for 87-89?
I'd like to know for myself and the IROC's.

87
IROC-Z
Formula
Trans Am
GTA
A4
L98 V8
9.3:1
5.7
(350)
225@4400

Also, what "stage 2 chip" is making 21hp for you?

Ok The Books I have & The prof. I deal with All say 230hp on the 87 Iroc 350 Engines.
The chip I have is a Hypertech chip.

& the HP I am quoting from the track is from a program That I have that deals with Weight of car, driver & your et Its only a round fig of HP.

not sure what program you are using, but i don't think those virtual engine calculators are accurate of your individual car, caz i can guarantee you are not getting that much power (if any) from a hypertech chip. You must just have a nice running iroc to be getting those times.
