quickest track times w/ shortys and a cat?

with emissions testing comin back in CT I was wondering who knew of some of the faster fbodys out there that are still running shorty headers and a "removable" cat. :lala:

Nice you live in CT! I live there too!

Want to come and see my car this weekend so you can let some of the people on this board know I am not hiding a nitrous kit!

I have heard rumors that emissions might not be coming back. I heard they are having issues with shops not wanting all the equippment and hassle! I hope we dont get emissions, but if we do I say run a 3" cat, and you shouldnt have too much loss!

hey whats up....recognize your name from the pike board.

times arent too shabby for a lowly stang...if always liked fox bodys...just liked fbodys a whole lot more.

have to meet up sometime.... hopefully this new emissions thing will blow up in the states face and then we wont have to worry about the smog ****'s.

I don't post much here but saw this so...Earlier this year a guy from Louisiana was selling an 89 Firebird on here. It had 1 3/4" slp headers with a single 3" exhaust and an Slp muffler. Car was a real sleeper running 11.09@122 n/a. 355 w/afr 210's, hyd roller, vic jr, holley 750, stock rear w/3.73.
This is what I'd aspire to build if/when I get a "round tuit"...I have more details about the car if anyone wants them.

I was at the track 2 weeks ago and ran a 12.902 and a 12.905 both at 111mph. Forget the et's in my case because I'm running a stock suspension and 235/60r15s. I am running 1 5/8" slp shorties and a stock single cat (not gutted) running through a 3" dynomax exhaust. I know the exhaust is holding me back, but probably not alot.
