Went to track last night to break in rebuilt 350. Car ran 7.91 @ 86 MPH in 1/8th mile. This is with limiter restricted to 5,500 RPM and short slicks (26"). Traction was virtually non existent as there were not enough cars to warm track surface. Had to leave early as cords were showing on one rear tire.

Will change oil and tires today for another session tonight.

Saturday night car ran quicker: 7.68 at 87.5 in 1/8 mile w/1.61 60' Engine is still on break in restriction, shifting at 5000 to 5200 RPM. The shortblock is a circle track 2 bolt 350 w/flattop pistons. Heads are Iron lightning 200cc intake/50cc Chamber for 11.4-1 Comp ratio, 2.02 Int./1.60 Exh. valves. Manifold is dual plane airgap, 750 Vac. sec. Holley w/choke removed. Secondary conversion plate installed. Hooker 1-5/8 long tube headers.

Other items: TH-350 w/3500 stall converter, 4.10 gears, torson diff, Lakewood LCA and Adj. Panhard bar, Air bags, 90/10 struts, M/T 28 X 10.5 X 15 Slicks on 15 X 10 Rims.

Adding SFC this week and ordering 8 pt rollbar and seats/harnesses.

Replaced 305 as bores were worn out, cranking compression dropped to 120 to 150 across all 8 cylinders. 305 had run a best of 8.07 @ 85.5 MPH in 1/8th w/1.77 60' time before starting to slow.
