Turbo mini van beats an Iroc-z
Yep, at the track. Those minivans are slow, but this "Iroc-z" is alot slower. They say its an Irocz TPI but seriously run that slow?

There are a couple of fast turbo minivans out there. I think they came stock for a couple of years too.
There is a full size Chevy G20 van at our track that clicks off 13's at like 108 mph or something. That's pretty sweet, especially at this altitude.

I've seen as Astro van with a V8 in it. It's like everyone expects a third gen to have a powerfull V8 under the hood but there are many with only a V6. Then they say "Is that all it ran?" without knowing it has a V6.
Same as first gen's. Everyone seems to think all the 69's had 396 big block. Many either had a straight 6 or a 327.
Body styles can be misleading. You can never underestimate what's under the hood. How about a Monte Carlo SS with the 305 ripped out and a 500 Caddy engine sitting in it's place.

that van ran a 16 flat it looks like in the video. IRoc is way behind that. How many 305 TPI irocs run high 16's or slower? The car didnt look like a beater either.

First, the van ran a 16.03 at a whopping 83mph. That's not fast at all. Second, the IROC was available with both the 155HP LG4 and 170HP L03, both usually equipped with an automatic trans and poorly geared rear with an open differential. Most stock LG4s or L03 would be hard pressed to run a 16 flat, much less an older one out of tune. Still it could have been a TPI, as most are in horrible running condition, but more likely one of the two listed above.

If so, it's a full size short wheelbase Dodge van, with a 496 Mopar. Runs mid-12's, all motor. Always a crowd favorite.

ive seen this vid, Also seen a Van like that beat up a Lt1 or Ls1. i think Ls1. Its video online as well. The prob has a Lg4 or LO3. Runnin 16s like that
a chevy g series van should run the same as a chevy c series truck because....they're the same, the body is obviously a bit different, and the van is the only thing I could imagine being more aerodynamically challenged than a truck, but the frames and suspensions were about the same and the engine options were usually similar, all else being equal the only thing that should divide them would be the aerodynamics or in the case of the van they should probably be called aerostatics because I can't even imagine getting one to go over a hundred, I've got a g30 chevy van to haul parts and I have to say I'm usually pretty thankful its a tank when the bigrigs go by at 80, feels like its about to get on two wheels and fly off the road

Thats no stock 2.5L turbo van. A stock 2.5L turbo van is very responsive and fun to drive until 40 MPH but you would be hard pressed to get it above 80MPH. I do know they will take a stock 305 TBI until the 60 mark but after that no chance.
There was a guy that worked over at autozone that had a pimped out low rider Astro van, I seen it around town always going 20+ over the speed limit. One day I asked him what kinda setup he had, pop'd the hood and sitting in place of the 4.3L was a chromed out 406 steralth ram engine with a paxton SC neatly tucked in. The thing sounded stock too
