Axle/Gears: 4.30 Dana 44 Rear 10 bolt front
any estimates on this combo?
Trying to get an estimate for what my 1/4 mile would be with these mods.
assuming ok traction from a non posi
92 rs 305 tbi 5speed
heddman headers and y no cat cat-back from an ls1
cold air intak using a tpi dual snorkel, no air sys.
march crank pulley ls1 alum drive shaft stage 1 comp chip
vehicle in decent tune w/ 93 octane (bc of chip) 3.08 gears,
standard size tires (and poss. an ult tbi w/ inj pod spacer)
not expectin too much but...
let me know what you guys think

hmm, i was hoping for better, the car should run mid low 16's now, and half of the mods listed are still sitting in the garage
waiting to be installed.
i know traction is prolly a huge issue, (well, besides the obvious peanut cam and swirl port heads)

If in doubt, take it to the track and find out exactlt what it will do. I just look at your listing as nothing special but a 305 with highway gears. Your chip may give you a few extra horses but don't expect much from the rest of the stuff.

a fellow member TraviZ had an rs with I think free mods and a catback and ran a 15.6 all day but it was a 3.08 posi 5-speed
I'll say mid 15's don't they run 16's in stock form

from what i have seen they run mid 16's stock and low 16's w/ a 5speed, but people w/ more drag strip exp. would know better.
the only facts that i have to go on is that my friend ran his 95 gsr 4 door to a 16.2 in the 1/4, and i was able to get a fender up on him in a street race, till we hit about 60mph.
(I also had HORRIBLE traction issues, but I'll be getting better tires definately and if i have money to spare, a posi and gears)
the only mods that i had done at the time were
march pulleys,
new clutch
stock exh. w/ no muffler
alum. driveshaft
and open element
160* t-stat (car runs pretty rich right now)
for the winter i have these mods in the garage
stock ls1 cat-back (should flow the same or better since the larger diameter tubing)
heddman headers and y-pipe delete AIR and cat
dual snorkel from tpi setup to make custom CAI
stage 1 comp. chip
and some weight reduction
tbi injector spacing (and poss. an ult tbi and afpr)
complete tune-up
and any other cheap or free mods that i missed im open to sugg.
I'm hoping for a low 15, but that's just the goal for now...
