WOW, Jere Stahl is still around? back in the day his headers were the only game in town for performance. (60-70's)

Hooker, Hedman, SLP are all the big names people know now but these headers are all mass produced to keep prices down. Companies such as Stahl, Ed Quay, Lemons, Sanderson all make high quality headers but at a much higher cost. I've seen a $1500 set of Lemons Headers.

Type of material used, quality of the welds, thickness of the flanges, tube and collector size, coated or not all play a part in the final cost.

Cheap headers are usually just that, cheap. Some thin walled mild steel, uncoated, small tube, Blackjack headers might seem like a good deal but when they rot out in 3 years, it's not much of a deal.

yeah i agree i had a set of garbage headers on the car for a while and it would never seal good well after actually taking a look at them the flanges were warped due to the thin flanges so i know exactly what your saying ill tell you what those lemons headers look good though just out of my price range
