FINALLY got some CARBED LT4 times

ok its been a long time waitng for me and im sure a few guys have been waintg to see what it would of done...well i got 4 runs in..they were have some timing problems so i only have 60ft 1/4 and trap

1st race..

60ft 2.43 ...first time launching it spun its *** off
1/4 13.22
TS 116.77

2nd race

60ft 2.23 ...bogged a little then took off and spun
1/4 12.86
TS 115.64

3rd race

60ft. 2.09...spun very little and didnt bog best 60 of the bunch
1/4 12.54
TS 115.12

4th race

60ft. 2.15....spun a little more then 3rd run
1/4 12.61
TS 115.23

overall im pretty happy with it so far...this is with a box stock 650DP with stock jets and everything....with some tuning its got another 2mph in it easy...i didnt powershift it so theres another 1.5-2 tenths but i dont wanyto break it so thats not gonna happen....im going back soon with some slicks so maybe i can get a low low 12...its got the power for an 11 but like i said im not gonna break it for a time slip....
when i put it together i was shooting for mid 12's so i met my goal, and it can only get faster with traction and tuning...

yeah those speeds are good for bottom 12's and high 11's with good traction. you could be in the 1.7's in the 60foot and run high 11's

very nice!

Dang, nice times! I wish my TPI pulled like that

A while back in CarCraft, they stuck a stock carb on a stock LS1 and made something like 420 hp! I would imagine an LT1 would make close to that. Nice times bro

im running firestone firehawk sz50's in 255/50/zr16..which i cut those 1.9's with my 305...these tires are really sticky but im putting down like 370rwhp and there strugglin lol...

this motor was runnin almost 109 with the stock cam, long tubes carb and dual exhaust..and i cant recall who did this but the carb and EFI setups were tested againts each other everyhting being stock other then the induction and the carb produced more low end grunt by 25+ lb ft. and like 20 ponies at 5,500..this carbed intake really works..

i'm astounded by the mph. it does seem to slow in mph with decreasing 60s which is pretty typical, IMO. I need to know the weight of this car. What has been done for weight redux? Those aren't corrected are they? what track was that?

How in the h%^$ does an lt4 with a carb go 115 plus mph? Pretty rare results I'd say. Good work. get some tires on it and post the actual timeslips!

in all honesty im not suprised by the mph...this cam in heavier 4th gens with LT4 heads obvioulst EFI runs anywere from 112-114...so in my lighter 3rd gen a 115 seems about right..and its got more in it becasue the 650DP hasnt been tuned yet..i also found out that my fuel pressure guage was reading incorrectly and wheni made my passes the FP was only at 4-5 pounds so theres a little more power there...this is a full weight GTA so im guessing 3400-3500 pounds...the track is milan michigan and its 600 ft elevation so there corrected......

im going back soon becasue my slave started to leak so its hard to shift now so itll be a little while...but it will be with slicks and 7 pounds of fuel pressure....then maybe ill get the carb tuned...
the plugs look pretty good so its not thin..so well see what a dyno tune can do for it

i think you meant to say "not corrected" My best times were also run at Milan, fyi.

Anyhow, good job, I really wouldn't expect that kind of hp! Alot of 383s with more cam, head, and carb, dont mph that well. I could site many many examples.

how much do those heads go for? are yours ported? flowed?

yea i maent they dont ned to be corrected...or i could of left off the "ed" part lol...milan is a good track, its really sticky and they just redid the launch pad so its good to go....NIB LT4's go for 600 a piece bare castings...i paid 1200 for mine assembled with Hotcam springs manly 2.02 1.60 proflow valves (stock is 2.00 1.55) and drilled for 7/8 studs so i got a good deal on them...there as cast but im going to get them ported by Lloyd Elliot who routinly gets 300 cfm out of them....i had them flowed when i bought them and they flowed almost 260 and 210 exhaust...which is about what afr 195's flow....the LT4 intake port is also 195cc..

when i get them ported im gonna sstuff a GM 847 in there and put down 425-430 to the ground....

its all about the combo...a lot of guys just throw **** together and expect it to go fast...these LTx motors make a lot of torque..so i built for that andd the HP will take care of itself

my LT1 powerd 9C1 caprice makes gobs of grunt...were talking almost 350 ft pounds @2,400rpm amd its flat as a board
