The thing is, certain classes have limitations on wheel size. If you are just starting out, I would take your car as is, figure out with the tech inspectors, what class your car is in, then check the rules to see what the wheel rule is. Besides, when you are just starting out, going in street trim, will help you learn much more, much faster. Racing tires can sometimes cover up mistakes that you would notice on street tires. I would suggest trying it out, and getting some seat time, before you start buying parts specificly for auto-x.

Since your new to autocrossing, Why don't you save some money by purchasing a set of 16x8 Firebird WS6 rims. they will be tons cheaper than CCW's . Then purchase some 255/50-16 Kumho 710's for them. Its a great combination to start with and will last along time and be very fast. The big CCW's are only needed when you are to the point "competitively" that you are ready to take on National events.

Next year I moving up to Street Mod and once my new engine is done, I thinking of putting 18x10.5 - 18x11s on the front and 17x11s on the rear.
