Car: 1984 LG4 Camaro
Engine: 350 Roller Motor
Transmission: Level 10 700R4
Axle/Gears: Strange 12 bolt 3.42
My Camaro was running 15.0 to 15.1 at 91-92mph almost 15 years ago with just a few bolt on parts and no carb rejetting:

Dual snorkel L69 air cleaner with K&N
Underdrive crank pulley
Dual electric L98 fans
Banks y-pipe, 3" cat, 3" cat back ewxhaust
Edelbrock micro plus timing computer
700R4 automatic, 3.08 gears (ran the same with 3.42)

My IROC ran consistent 15.2 at 92 mph with even less parts:

Dual snorkel L69 air cleaner with K&N
Banks y-pipe, 3" cat, 3" cat back ewxhaust
Edelbrock micro plus timing computer
T5, 3.27 gears
Rejetting of the carb

I figure that the Camaro would have been 2 or 3 tenths faster and 2 or 3 mph quicker with carb tuning. The IROC would have picked up the same if I had the electric fans and underdrive pulley as the Camaro had. So maybe 14.9 to 14.9 at say 94mph with just bolt ons.

16.80 @ 80 mph at 5800' Bandimere, which equates to 15.58 @ 86 at sea level. That was with open element air cleaner, timing at 6 degrees base, 3.08 open rear, L98 exhaust after the cat. I believe I had removed most of the AC at the time because it wasn't working, anyway. The '86 had 9.5:1 compression, FWTW.

Later I ran a 16.70 @ 81 (15.49 @ 87) with a ZZ3 take-off manifold. The stock manifold had plugged up EGR passages so it would ping on the street with even 6 degrees timing, with a clean manifold I could run it at 10 degrees with no problems. The reason I pulled the manifold is I had a coolant leak, and I was gathering parts for my mods at the time and had the intake already, so I just put it back on rather than put the stocker back on. I think the timing had more of an effect than the intake itself on the stock engine.

Of course, the 350 runs just a little better than the stock LG4 did...

I got my LG4 down to a 13.4@101 before swapping in the 383. Theres always the question of when is it not an LG4 anymore...but heres what I did with my old LG4. The bottom end was all stock never rebuilt with about 100k miles.
stock heads mildly ported and milled .030 for about 9.6:1 comp
crane 274H cam
performer RPM intake manifold
HEI vac advance ignition w/ recurve kit
600cfm edelbrock carb
Hedman LT headers
2 1/2 y-pipe with cutouts
stock 10 bolt w/4.10 gears
built 700-R4
3000 stall non-lockup torgue converter

It was a great low budget reliable combo and I think it had some more left in it too with a little more tweeking.

I serioulsy doubt you ran a 13.4 with those mods on a 305. I'd say i'm pretty close to high 13's haven't gotten times on it yet but i know it has 13's in it.

You can doubt all you want but thats the actual uncorrected times. I'm just trying to be helpful by sharing information. Even a 305 can run well with the right combination of parts. It wasn't an overnight thing, I tweaked the combo for a couple of years.

Looking at your ET vs. trap speed, I'm guessing your 60 foot times were pretty good?

(or maybe it was gears -- 4.10 )

60 footing is so much of racing. I currently run a 13.96@100.5 with a 2.197 60. If I could hit a 1.8 60 on some better tires, that would drop to about a 13.57ish (based off what I've seen from other LT1s, and just common sense).

did you forget to mention aftermarket heads or something? I'm just confused because me and mw66nova have more mods than you had but were somehow slower. not to mention mw66nova's car only weights like 3100 lbs. IIRC. not to call you a liear i'm just saying thats a really good time for a 305.

pheonix, his cam is MUCH bigger than ours, and neither of our motors have been together as long as jbenges, not to mention he's damn good at tuning. 13.4 is not that far away. it's all about the setup. 100.5mph is my best time and my calculations say i should be running a 13.48 with that trap speed. now i just bought a double pumper carb so i hope to see how much of an improvement i get.

Thats crazy i would love to get my car that deep into the 13's!!! i hope to get close to mid 13's with my next round of mods; edelbrock rpm airgap manifold, holley DP, underdrive pullies, 1.6:1 rr, and some weight reduction. But i would be happy with a 13.7- 13.6. maybe some nitrous in the future.

dont forget he's got ported and milled heads and a big cam, and also the 700r doesnt rob HP like the th400 your running does.

my LG4 was running great before it died. It was stock heads/cam/bottom end with performer RPM, hedman shorties w/ Y-pipe and 3" exhaust all the way back. tuned CC qjet (makes a world of a difference) and all useless accessories deleted.

the real bummer is that my only trip to the track the fuel pump was dieing so it was hesitating really bad high in 1st and 2nd was nothing but pinging and bogging. It still had great low end power, enough to break my tranny mount coming out of the hole, but with a bad fuel pump it couldnt feed the motor at high RPM's.

5 minutes after the new fuel pump was in it started knocking when i was running it WOT at the top of 2nd.. i was angry but my next mod was a 350 block w/ cam anyhow, guess its time!!

Yea my 60' times were decent for running mid 13's..usually around 1.8x. And my car is fairly light too being a sport coupe with no power options, AC delete, and at the time a mostly stock suspension. With 26x10.5 ET streets, 4.10 gears, and low first gear of the 700R-4 it was a lot of fun. I think it was actually over geared but the gearing made it a lot of fun to drive....felt like it had so much torque in 1st gear. It would have been interesting to try a taller tire, more suspension mods(like I have now) and 650DP on my old combo, I always thought I could have squeezed another tenth or two out of it that way. I think mw66nova's combo has more potential that mine did..I wouldn't be surprised to see him get into the very low 13's with some more tuning.

300 ft lbs times 3.06 times 4.11=3772.98

Compared to

300 times 2.74 times 3.42 =2811.24

Oh yea
