this spring

looks like this spring i will b putting a new engine in my camaro, 350 bored .060
not sure on compression i will have to figure that out
stock heads
stock 700r4 (scarry)
stock 2.73 open rearend (scarry)
comp cams xe 274 cam and lifter set .487/.490
holley 750
edlebrock rpm performer intake

any clue if this can get me into low 14s until i can afford some decent heads

Transmission: TH400 with brake, 8" PTC converter
Axle/Gears: moser 9" 4.11
will that cam even work on stock heads without binding up? that cam won't be happy without a stall and bigger gears just so you know. it'll make for a really poor combination IMHO

yeah i'm well aware it is a bad setup hoping to slowly improve it as i go along, i will have to double check my clearence on my heads

Get decent tires, a converter and gears before putting that cam in a very mild, stock combination. You'll be much happier.

i'm definatly gonna do tires and converter i decided, good chance i'll do heads b4 i throw it in too i decided

i'd do the tires, gearing, and converter/shift kit before you built up the motor. then move on to the motor.

i think i'm just gonna drive that rearend until it blows up, and then throw a decent one in there, i don't drag race, its just a daily driver

If you dont race it then why not leave it stock. No use in making it fast if all you do is drive it back and forth to work

no offense i see your opinion, but if like being louder and faster than the guy next to me at teh street light, gas milage makes no differnce to me, when the next bum in a civic races (although it was close b4) it will be nothing to run them down, i don't care about a 10 sec. timeslip cause i know it won;t happen
