Went to the track to race for the first time last night. Its just a 1/8 mile track. I brought my 83 Z and my dad brought his 86 Iroc. We finally got the chance to end the debate of who is faster The mods on my 83 are open element, edelbrock headers, cutout, and an edelbrock q-jet rpm manifold. The 86 is bone stock with a cutout. Both are auto with peg legs haha. Well the first race I beat him and then it was downhill for me the next 3 races lol. His best time was 9.87 @ 70 mph and mine was 10.17 @ 67 mph. Are those about average times? All in all it was a fun night and I plan on heading out there more often. Also do you think 1.6 rocker arms would give me enough to edge him out next time?

 

well hes got 3mph on ya. so 1.6s are not gonna do it. were the runs with the cutout open? overall maybe some tunning, advance the timing alittle. Cam Heads 350 engine....those would help you win.

 

you have the crap LG4 peanut cam. get that out of there and put in a decent cam and you will notice a world of difference. since you already have exhaust and an intake, slap a cam in it and go beat Pops!!
