Re: What do you think?
you're gonna need ALOT more stall probably 3500 with that much duration. With that setup and a tbi unit at that altitude i'd say high 12's low 13's

Re: What do you think?
I think a 3000 stall would be fine too. Just depends, my Vortec headed 350 had a camshaft with 230/236@.050 and it did well with a 3000 converter. It bested 12.28@111.85, I don't see why you can't obtain similar results depending on raceweight and the cylinder heads you have chosen.

Re: What do you think?
My plan through this build was to keep the car streetable, I figured if I went with too much stall, I would lose all streetability. Oh, yeah i forgot to add that the heads are Patriot Aluminums.

Re: What do you think?
way more stall, get a single plain intake for TBI, ditch that junk performer. I bet it would run a lot faster with a carb instead of restrictive tbi. Hope you plan on bigger injectors, more fuel pressure and a TON of chip burning.

Re: What do you think?
I like fuel injection for the better throttle response and improved reliability. The throttle body is going to flow 670 cfm, more than I will ever need, even at over 100 percent volumetric effency.

Re: What do you think?
from the 30s to the early 80s people putted around on carbs, i'm sure they're more than reliable. Throttle response won't be noticeable either I sure hope you're really good at burning chips because that is a huge cam for a tbi system to support. I would imagine a 750cfm carb would be a good choice for that engine, but good luck on your tbi endeavor.

Re: What do you think?
Ever driven a carb car? The throttle response is NOT sluggish by any means.
My carb has never given me any trouble (and if it did, it was my fault).

Well, I bit the bullet and put a carb on it. It's up and and running now. The prom game isn't worth the hassel.

Re: What do you think?
so you put a 750 double pumper on there? I hope you didn't buy a vacuum secondary carb.

Re: What do you think?
Well, funny story. I got a smokin deal on a edelbrock 650 vacuum secondary with preassure regulator for $100. Thats what's on the car right now, and i'm pretty happy with it, but...my uncle just brought by a holley 750 double pumper. It's been sitting in his garage for a couple years and needs rebuilt, but who am I to complain about a free carb? I'm going to tear it down and rebuild it, and slap it on.
