what it will run

i have a 92' rs with a carberated 305 in it. it has edlebrock 650 cfm/intake manifold combo, turbo 700 r-4 tranny, summit headers and no a/c. what might it run if i get slicks on the 1/4 mile at 6000 ft. altitude.

They are very difficult to build to hold any amount of power.

Gears - check the data linked from the thirdgen.org homepage. Most likely you'll need to look at yours to get exactly what they are.

Who said anything about not liking the TH700?

About your combo: Edelbrock carb - no love lost with me on that piece. 650 is probably a bit large for a basically-stock LO3. Edelbrock manifold - which one? Summit headers - small tube wonders, okay for low RPM torque, not much for power, but probably aren't going to hurt your car. Sounds like you still have a stock cam and heads - both are EPA pacifiers.

At 6000' (assuming you mean Bandimere), I'd expect mid-16's out of it. Traction probably won't be a problem if you have stock gears. Unless you're running on Wednesday night "Take it to the Track" where all the front wheel drive cars screw up the pad. And they don't waste a lot of money on VHT on Wednesday night.

Ya, with that combo and 6000 ft you'd be lucky to break a mid 16...

They actually prep the track pretty well for the high school class because there are several true 11-sec race cars that run in that class.

We had a little traction trouble with the Camaro in the HS class, but managed to figure out a burn-out and staging process that eliminated it.
