T-Top flew off at 90 mph.....
Lately I have been getting some good sixty footers (for my setup) at 1.6X. First pass yesterday at SIR in Tucson, my passenger side T-Top flew off at the 1/8 mile. I plan to pick one up here in town this week. I plan to tryout for PINKS All Out next weekend here at SIR. I don't expect to make the show, but if I get 2 seconds on TV making a trial pass, that'd be cool!
Beyond welding/taping the top in, what can I do to keep top on the car?
Car does have SFCs and all the good bolt-ons in the rear except for the TA, it is stock. Maybe a front strut brace would help. I have the Spohn wonder already.
Thanks Guys!!

Re: T-Top flew off at 90 mph.....
I do the 1/4 at 140 mph and have never lost a T-top. My car has had SFC since the first time I took it to the track and has had a roll bar from the second year I raced. It got a full cage a few years after that as my ET kept dropping.
I don't do anything special to keep my T-tops in. Mine can still be locked if I can find the key and even with the full cage, I can still take them out but can't race with them out.

Re: T-Top flew off at 90 mph.....
you need to adjust the travel of the pins IIRC there is a way to do that, several of the 4th gen guys have lost their t-tops at the track as well, i believe there is a how-to on ls1tech.com that could be located on the search function to figure out how to adjust them.

wow, that sucks.. i lost a top.. but i forgot to latch it down.. what kind of latch does yours have?? is it a pin type or a latch/hook type??? the latch/hook type is more prone to coming off at the track that the pin..

Thanks guys, I'll check out forth gen site for more help too. I have the pin type, maybe I can extend the pins.
I'll do a roll cage as soon as I hit 11.49 consistently.
PINKS All Out will be here in Tucson, AZ Nov. 16-17.

if you dont take your t-tops off, you could run a bead of silicone on the weather stripping.. it will also aid in sealing it when the rain comes..

Re: T-Top flew off at 90 mph.....
I once forgot to latch my driver side and started driving to school. A mile down the road I looked up and it was in the process of falling off. I reached my left hand up and literally caught it coming down the side of my car at about 45 mph. Pulled over and latched it up and pretended it never happened. It was about a week after buying a "new" set of glass tops.
