You want to know what it runs? Take it to a dragstrip and find out.

Get me a chassis dyno HP number and a race weight and I'll tell you what it should run.

Say GOOD BY to that muncie, when you find it. It won't last too long. 600 hp and muncies don't mix too well. You better have plenty of cash, and learn how to build them your self. At least they do make parts for them now. Good luck.

So around 650 to the wheels with the 200 shot, around 3200 lbs, I would say 10.50s through that muncie.

Re: 1/4 mile e.t.estimate please

well the motor size has changed, instead of it being a 355, al pitre with pitre race engines decided to give me a 383 stroker for the same price. a little more horsepower but a lot more torque. is there a big enough difference in these two motors to make a difference. i dont have the particulars on heads, cam and such but he said probably about 20 more horse and 70 more on the torque. 1 more thing should i go with these urethane motor mounts and if so where can i get them, i have searched the internet and cant seem to come up with them.

Re: 1/4 mile e.t.estimate please

if you are seriously putting down 600+ at the wheels, dont mess with urethane motor mounts.. put some solid mounts in and never worry about it again.. it will also give you a bit more power at the wheels..

unless you can bang gears, i say you run 10.3-10.5 with 600 at the wheels..

EDIT: one more thing. i would recommend some MSD electronics for the nitrous. you dont want to powershift with the nitrous running.. i would get a W.O.T. switch controlling a window switch.

Re: 1/4 mile e.t.estimate please

600 at the wheels is a helluva ot of power from a 383. I could imagine 600 flywheel since my "mild" 406 is pushing 573 flywheel but that means something like 680 flywheel from a 383.

I think he is saying 600 on the spray, not all motor.

Re: 1/4 mile e.t.estimate please

the motor itself will make around 570 or so when he's finished, he will be doing the break-in and dyno runs so i will know exact numbers later, i figured on the 600 horse to the wheels after the nitrous gets in there, all of this is a complete guess, completely theorical until i get my dyno numbers. those solid mounts are they as rough as people say they are. i heard it could make the car vibrate so bad nuts and bolts start loosening up?
