Help Breaking 12's...

Ran my 92 RS last night at Atco, NJ and just couldn't get in to the 12's. I was hoping that the 150 shot that i just installed would push it into the 12 second index but i came up just short at a best of 13.060. Info is below. Suggestions please!

Without 150 shot:

R/t: .363
60': 1.986
1/8: 9.043
1000: 11.82
1/4: 13.98
Mph: 97.46

With 150 shot:

R/t: .293
60': 1.768
1/8: 8.33
1000: 10.89
1/4: 13.060
Mph: 103.78

Re: Help Breaking 12's...

150 shot only got you almost a second and only 6 mph? figured it be higher than that and quicker ET wise with 150 more hp

your 150 shot time looks good tho for the power at 103mph. My 12.95 run looks like that sorta. 1.71 60 foot, 8.21 1/8 , 10.79 1000 foot, and a 103.8 mph trap speed.

Re: Help Breaking 12's...

thats a pretty mild cam, so the n/a time seems ok for the mods. Its a TBI car still correct as i seen TBI injectors listed

I'd be happy with those results on motor for now. How heavy is the car? your gonna hit 12's with the shot with a little better launch and good air/weather. YOu probly could use more stall but with the shot, that 2400 should act like a 2600 or so.
Keep an eye out on the density altitude and air temp/humidity. Track that information and run when it looks as good as it will get in your area and you'll see good times

Re: Help Breaking 12's...

assuming you have at least 9.5:1, swap in a bigger cam (like Comp XE268) and go carb... you'd easily run 12.80-13.0's on motor and 11's on the 150 shot.

I'd be really surprised if your injectors weren't going static at ~4500 rpms. Are they 454 injectors?

BTW i checked the nitrous jet today and it is a .047 jet which is a 100 shot i believe not a 150 shot.

100% duty cycle, open 100% of the time. Meaning that once they go static it just keeps getting leaner and leaner.

Re: Help Breaking 12's...

Do you have a bottle heater? Did you keep track of bottle pressure during the runs? When did you start spraying?

A 100 shot on my 2000 netted me .9 and 8.5 MPH on a very hot & humid day. I picked up 12-13 MPH on a 150 shot, picked up less than a second because of wheelspin.

Re: Help Breaking 12's...

bringing this back from the dead,

no bottle heater.
pressure at around 900psi
nitrous is activated at WOT
Times posted above are for a 100 shot not a 150 shot (typo)

Picked up 6mph and .92 ET on a 100 shot.

What should i be expected to run with a 150 shot? (planning on running it next week sometime.)

With traction, you "should" see another .3 -.4 on the bigger pills.
