m/t sportsman I's?

I need some sticky tires that can be driven on the street (not drag radials that wear out in 2 weeks) what about those mickey thompson sportsman I's? 12/32 "I" tread, hot n sticky compound im thinking g60-15s would fit nicely. If not what about the indy profiles? I looked at pro-trac but they only have an l60, which is too tall.

Re: m/t sportsman I's?

I tried the Indy Profile SS tires. I couldnt hook up. They are better than a regular street radial, but not much.

I switched to the Hoosier Quick Time Pro's and love them. I put soap on the insides before I mounted them. I dont run tubes and have no problems with them leaking off. No you dont want to be caught in the rain with them, but with 25psi, they drive just fine.

If nothing else, just by a set of slicks and a extra set of wheels for race day.

Re: m/t sportsman I's?

I'm ordering a set of prostars 15x6 up front with 215/65-15 radial t/a's and 15x8 in the back with g60-15s or 275/50-15s if i can find them.

I basically want the stickiest street tire I could run.

I called MT and talked to an old tech and said they were discontinuing the "I's" but he said they gripped ashpault very well and were being phased out because of the new radial tires. I really like how the I's look though. I guess some other options would be:

MT Sportsman S/R's
Hoosier Pro-street radials
Nitto drag radials
???????

I had a pair of 29x12.5. I didnt like them. They were hard to balance, wobbled going down the road, handled poorly, and really didn't bite too well. I put a set of 275/60 et street radials on, and they much better all around. Handle well and good traction.

Re: m/t sportsman I's?

I use to run sportsman pros years ago ie: before drag radials were made.Thay would pull 1.50 60 ft I do not think thay will last much longer than drag radials it all depends on your driving habits. Also the nitto drag radials seem to hold up well but thay do not work as well at the track as the other drag radials.
