Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
it has a single plate system and it runs 9.74 @ 140 with 150 kit, it does have PA racing coil overs, k member and control arms.
I am building a 25.5 car right now. it is mini tubbed with stock suspension. i am building the car to run that real street class in immokalee and sunshine.
it will be a 355 with a single 76mm blow through combo.

stiletto...HOLY CRAP!! thats a swweeettt sounding car, and beautiful suspension!! launches like a dream thats for sure. and yes...the 6" cowl is awesome!!
Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
...doesnt look near as good though
Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
If he's gonna run real street it will be a 275.
xpndbl3 - he said another car.
stilleto - Why the change from the 4" hood to the 6", I know my 4.5" is enough to have to see around? I haven't been out to many of the outlaw races as of recent, but I got a few shake-down runs in our new car, so I will be soon enough. I know there are a couple boys running in the 5.2x range. - Are you running stock cast/camber plates with coil-overs? I could be wrong, but they appear to just be stockers. I'd think that'd be asking for it with just a rubber bushing mount.

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
it has a 29.5 x 10.5W on the rear.
but i can only use a 275-60-15 in the real street class
----------
the black and white car is not mini tubbed. the pics with the 4" hood has a 15x10 w/5.5 back spacing w 325-50-15
and with the 6" hood pic it has a 15x10 with 6" back spacing and a 28x10.5
the new car that i am building is mini tubbed. and what a job that is, it sucks.

the did have the factory strut mount but now it has pa racing adjustable ones.
Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
on the hood. Probably why they reccomend hood pins. - DIY on the new car or having it done? If so, where? any pics of it, or not far enough along yet to be proud? Have you been down to Immokalee before? I'm about 45min from the track, currently running a 10.5 outlaw car, though at the moment it's only sporting a wennie motor(about a second too slow). Not sure if we'll be ready for the Tomato Nationals next month or not, but I'll atleast be there to watch.
- probably better switch to PM here to not get off topic...

massey, clean car! i don't particularly care for the foward facing scoop, but clean car nonetheless.
the last picture you posted with the car going down the track with the wind pushing the front spoiler down looks like a dog with his head out the window of a car and his tongue is flapping in the wind, lol!

Yeah, the forces on the front of our cars (or any for that matter) is pretty crazy at speed. Our track photographer took some top end shots one weekend and it's insane what some of the body panels looks like, a couple of T/S cars lexan windshileds looked like they were pushed in a good 1" in the middle.

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
I put a aluminum brace from the core support out to the nose and spoiler after removing my bumper support, worked great, hardware store tubbing and pop rivets!

What must your neighbors think.
It's cold out here as well, I keep pushing my nose against the front room window and see snow everywhere and decide to stay in for a few more weeks.

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
this white crap we've had on the ground for weeks and weeks. At least I don't feel bad about my car not running when there's no way I could possibly drive it.
Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
it was clear down in the low 60's here this morning...plenty cold for me. I moved out of that crap for a reason!- The local track is only close for 2 weekends! Of course I currently need a new motor since I kicked #1 rod at the top a second....interesting "test" of the new chassis components. 3 circles at 90mph after 9 quarts of oil and 2-3 gallons of coolant dumped in front of the rear tires. I didn't hit the wall(rather be lucky than good anyday), so all is well.
I did finally get some completed pics. I'll try to get them posted when I get home.

Hahaaa, Lol...guys it`s not some fabed wonder just some aluminum square tube pop rivited together, I will get some pic`s, maybe for christmas morning!
Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
great story - I didn't hit anything! Actually, that happend two weekends ago. I just hadn't said anything on here. Did 2 complete circles, plus another 90, stopped within 1' of the opposite side wall. We went to roll the car back to hook the wheeler up and I said, "hummm, I thought this Kirkey was blue, not brown....."
Good news is it went a 6.65 on the initial shake-down pass and I could have let go of the wheel when I let go of the t-brake. All motor, shifting at around 6k(motor made peak power around 8600). edit; needed to say made, not makes - lol
I'm certain we're in for 5.8-.9's on motor and we'll see what a 250 shot does for it. We should be back up in a 2-3 weeks. Had not planned on leaving that motor in long, just checking a few things out on it(obviously we found a problem....
) while awaiting the block work on the 468. It did tap one head so now I've got to wait on it getting welded first....
Hopefully by summer we'll be ready for the blower motor. It's patiently waiting on the stand.

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
which one?
This car is a legal 10.5 outlaw chassis. There's some pics on either the first or second page. I will go mid 4's once the blower motor is in
whether or not my driving is up to snuff.....
- motor that spit a rod - 445ci(+.100 427) 4340 crank, BME .150 long aluminum rods, TRW pistons(12.5:1), old-school GM aluminum square port heads(winter's "snowflake" d-ports), .714 Cam Motion solid roller.
- 468 that's going in to base-line the chassis - 5140 crank, BME .250 long aluminum rods, JE pistons(12.5:1), same heads(as soon as they're fixed), .730 Isky roller. +NOS plate
- blower motor - 477ci tall deck. Callies magnum crank - Childs & Alberts .400 long aluminum "club" rods, JE pistons(12:1), Dart 360's, custom Comp blower cam, 1471 Littlefield hi-helix w/ delta discharge, Enderle buzzard catcher.

Well I figure why not I better throw some more pics in the mix. Most people either love it or hate it when they see my car. I like it thats all that matters. Runs 10.80's on motor with pump gas right now.
Before the paint job

To prove it runs on pump gas LOL

After paint job
