295 sounds much better lol and yeah my comp is sooooooo slow. i hate it lol especially since it takes so much to load these pages. what brand of tire you suggest then? just a goodyear or hoosier or what? does hoosier even make a street tire? im 99% sure they dont but thatd be sweet if they did lol.

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
I used to run BFG Radial T/A's during the street days. Found those to be better than the original Goodyear Eagle GT's in the snow. I've had this car for 22 years and put 203k miles on it before dumping the 2.8/5-spd for the 400 sbc 4-speed set up then switched to an automatic trans during the bracket racing days. The 305 stocker motor came along after that.

a 275/60/15 stretched over a 15x10 with a 6.5" backspacing. this did require quite a bit of hammer "persuasion" and i had to cut the bumpstops:

hey steve...how much snow is on the ground up there in chicago land?

-7 for a high today
we got about a foot right now, snow drifts and the piles from the plow trucks are probably 5 feet tall in some sections, other areas with a lot of salt down have maybe 2 feet along the roads in some spots.

Just a rear anti roll bar will be a big improvement. There's a lot of power lost with that much body twist.

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
I would suggest an air bag in the RR with 25-30 psi. Also, you might want to disconnect the passenger side of the rear sway bar and place weights equalling your weight on the drivers seat. Then shim up the passenger side link so it places no preload on the bar.

Iv got a question or 10 about my turd. I have posted pics of me building my car. Its not close to be done and prob will never be done. Iv got a 500 Horse 385. Forged Eagle Kit. 12:1 I think. Its 93+ booster friendly. 262-262 dur. 630 lift cam, Bordix heads 750 Speed Demon..Build for the bottle. Does high 9in out of a pretty much factory weight GTA sould out of the questions on a 250+ shot. It will have see a 400 shot one day when I get brave and wanna spend a lot more money but for now at least a 250 shot. Maybe two staging it out of the gate so we dont blow the tires..I would love to see 9.9999 just once!

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
Yeah, I have had the car since 1994, has been a very slow paced project (something my father and I get to have fun with and spend time together). Good luck on the 9's goal. I'm just planning on mid 10's....any more than that and it's time to go by a real race car....(Altered)....

Just so you know, I have about half of the stuff you claim you have, ex.
I have, 383, 10.8 cr, 240's duration flat tappett cam, 195 cc heads, under 500 HP and only a 3200 stall. My times are in signature and I have been researching like crazy to see where a 200 shot will take me. I believe the 200 kit is going to go low low tens. And anything over is a trip to the 9's. The kit I will be using will be a Nitrous express kit which are known to be under estimated.
So if you have what you say you have you should be on the path to single digits with the right kit and the right tune.

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
If I'm using my track calculator correctly, you both should be in the high 9's with of course near perfect launches. Low 10's are more realistic, but should both hit 9's on good days.
Those are real good times fastls1 n/a! Flat tappet even! What heads?

Re: Post pics of third gen Race cars.
Heads are AFR 195 eliminators, out of the box 65 CC. Timing at 34*, super comp's, 2.5 inch exhaust and 10 year old flowmasters, distributer is ready-to-run with no ignition box, carb is barry grant 750, pistons are flat top srp's, cam is flat tappett XE-284H(241/246 @.050, and .537/.540 lift with 1.6 rockers). converter is street/strip 3200 stall, 4.10 gears. Car also has t-350 with manual valve body, and leaving off idle. I think it has a 10.99 in it with better traction and more timing. Well see soon enough
