New best today in Vega, 9.02 @ 151

This is about the 6th time out for car and getting faster,Pretty nice weather today, cool w/cross wind and some sun. First pass had to lift slightly as car hooked to left again, still ran 9.09 @ 150 new best, second pass added 1lb air and raised Right wheelie bar 1/2 turn. New best all the way through 1.25 60ft, 5.76 @ 120 1/8 0.02 @ 151, first round eliminations now, lights are just getting on key once getting used to car, raced rail, I got out .0139 to his
.0179 , he ran 8.61 on 8.61, I ran 9.03 on 9.00 dial new best 60ft 1.249, 7.77 1/8 @ 120, 9.03 @ 151, think I shifted a tad late out of second....

I think it needs a little more jet in secondaries, but forgot jet kit - she got 8's in her though.. Also still forced to come off brake @ 3000 and still hitting wheelie bars to hard, anything more unloads tires causing car to hook. 350 trans has too low of first for this lite car... If I had a glide I think it would go 8.80s

You'll like a glide.

What have you done to control front end rise? Limiters? Shock adjustment?

I also want that 8 second timeslip but still haven't gotten any track time this year. Racing at altitude doesn't help.

Unsalted it weighs 2700lbs.

Steven: So far just wheelie bar adjustments have been made and dropping launch RPM, Being a chassis car there is little upward rise of frontend. I still need video to see what rear is doing. Bottom 4link bars are at lowest front position already. I really want a glide now, not only should it be faster, much less violent out of gate and easier to drive.

Orr: I told you in your post, you got alot of work to do on your own stuff
I may try to make wed with TA, not sure yet though.

Thank You, Yes its on Motor..
What did the Glide do to your 60ft / 1320? What did you change from?

Orr: I don't think I will spray this one, would need a gear change If I do.
Will be taking 93 to track tomorrow Orr, Cut a bunch of timing from 4500-5500 to help traction, also extended limiter to 7200 so I can stay in 4th, and gonna keep spray on till 6800 I think Should pick up I hope, gonna drive her up, want to run in street lanes, but usually hook better with slick cars..

Just dont get caught behind a FWD car and it should be somewhat ok if they prep it at all. FWD car goes thru and doesnt burn out well, then your launching on a wet track

Re: New best today in Vega, 9.02 @ 151

I went to a glide last year in my GA. The 60fter was accually a little better and not near as violent. I went to the glide to get my rpm where I needed it, for the 1/8 mile. I'm running a 5.67 gear now and didn't want to go deeper. Starting line ratio was getting up there with the 350.
