2nd Gen leaf spring Vs. 3rd gen Torque arm.

I'm just looking to touch the subject on which is a better race platform. I'm pretty sure the answer is 3rd gen T/a. I have been thinking of a 2nd gen swap but that old school suspension just looks like crap to me and i'm thinking it works the same.

Anyone here have experience or thoughts on the topic?

How many leaf sprung cars do you see in the stock suspension classes vs 3rd/4th gen f-bodies and mustangs? - Caltracs and leafs can be tuned to work quite well, but they're not as good as newer technology.

Thats what I was thinking. I just didn't know how much better a T/A set up is over a Caltrac/leaf set up.

How many 3rd gens do you see in NHRA Stock races finals?

See quite a few 1st gens.

(Of course, it could be argued that the cards are stacked in Stock to favor the faster cars.)

It really depends on what you want. If all you want is the fastest then find the lightest car you can put a v8 in.

You can make any car work, just depends on what you want and how you want to get it.

Back to topic people have been getting second gens to hook using floaters for years. Most swap to a ladder bar or 4 link tho.

Prety much the same with third gens, the stock type suspension can work really well. About 9 out of 10 fast thirdgens around me have swaped to a ladder bar or 4 link.
