Finally got it to the strip

Well last saturday I finally took the car down and ran it after new engine/trans. After all the troubles I had getting it running and tunes I was finally happy with the damn thing. Here's what I have and what it ran.

88 iroc (original 350 car)
70's 350 4-bolt bored 30 over
Forged crank,rods,and pistons
Set of crappy 997 heads with 76cc chambers,160cc runners,fully freshened with 202 160 valves
Comp cam #12-238-2 (If I remember 480 lift 230 duration)
Accel high flow base
slp siamesed runners
everthing port and gasket matched
stock throttle body
needs a chip, will hardly idle with the set screw all the way out
edelbrock headers
flowmaster cat back
stock 277 gears

I tried to cool it the best I could, but it was always around 220 and it was about 85 degrees and humid. Out of five runs

Best 13.90 at 98mph with a .618 rt and 2.03 60ft
Worst 14.01 at 97mph with a .810 rt and
2.1 60ft

This suprised me because it has crappy heads
277 gears, and it needs a chip.

18 year old kid that needs to go faster
88 Iroc (still has a lot to be done)

Hey, great times!
I have a 89 350 but my intake is still stock but I have a ZZ9 cam, level 5 chip from TPIS, edelbrock 6085 heads and headers and a 2000 stall converter.
And I only got one run in at the track. It was warm and humid around 80 degrees and humidity was close to 80%.
My time was 14.01 @ 97mph with a 1.248 RT!
My 60' was 2.05.
Once you get the custom chip you should be in the mid to low 13's if you still connect!
Myself I need a new intake manifold and I hope to be near mid 13's with the 2.77 gears.
Lots Of Luck!

Does it really matter what your reaction time is? I thought they subtract the reaction time from your overall time.

------------------
Mods:Hooker Aerochamber 3" exhaust, gutted kitty,
March 2 piece underdrive pullies, smog pump gone,;these two made a very noticable difference.
14x4 K&N open air element filter-the best mod so far
Eibach springs with KYB's all around.
Appearance: Harwood cowl hood, Z-28 wing, painted black(7/20/00)-original color was light blue
*All these mods were made this year
Stock Options:117,000 miles on motor, 5spd, TBI, 305, T-tops
Run a best of 16.7 @85mph with traction problem. Have to try again sometime.

No, reaction time has no effect at all on your ET or MPH.
