what is the best way to improve my 60' time? i tried to run my stall up but over 1500 the car moves no matter how hard i hold the brake. my best has been 2.095.

short times are just a matter of getting a good hook. with the power you have you should be capable of cutting a low 1.9 at least. a good place to start is always a good set of tires and some good shocks. if you can do rear control arms and relocators that would help a lot too. an aftermarket torque arm would be the ultimate.

There are 2 things you need to really get a good 60-foot time: sticky tires and a higher-stall converter. You can get decent times with good street tires, as I got 1.9's with my nearly-bald 255/50ZR16 Comp T/A ZR's, but I also have a 2400 stall Precision Industries converter (rated at 2200, but my engine is a torque monster for a 305).
BTW, your car won't foot-stall over 1500 rpm since that's the stall speed of the stock converter. Even with a higher-stall converter, it's not necessary to bring the revs up very much as the converter does the job for you. I know guys with 2800-3600 stall converters (mostly P.I. Vigilantes) that just load up the drivetrain some at about 1000-1200 rpm, then let the converter take care of the rest. With a 2800 stall converter and Drag Radials, Trax was pulling low 1.7 60-foots in his 350 IROC.

A good set of gears would help too (3.42's or 3.73's). I have a 2400 stall, LCA'S and a Panhard Rod, 3.73's, and a Drag Radials. Leave the line around 1500 got a best 60ft time of 1.89
