Preformance Chips for 92 RS

I have a stock 92 Camaro RS..I want to add little mods here and there for now but they only thing I have on it is a high flow exhaust system. I want to put in a computer chip..does anyone know which would be the best for my case. I want to take it out to the drag strip here in a few months when i get it all set up with new tires and stuff like that. I would like some Internet sites I could possibly go to. Thanks

None, save your money. The stock chip in our cars is just fine for stock or mild mods. Dont buy a standard off-the-shelf chip like from Hypertech or Jet, they change very little and charge too much for it. The best thing you could do is spend your money on your own prom-burning stuff and make your own chips. Check out the prom-burning tech article.

Ya I agree...save your money! I have tried the hypertech chip and it didnt do ****! I have heard tho if you have a superchip, the more mods you do the better it will work. But for now i wouldnt waste your money on that.

I agree. Don't buy the chip! It will slow you down in the 1/4 mile. I have time slips to prove it under the same atmospheric conditions as well as driving conditions. Your money is better spent on some K & N's or something. Been there done that! Go to www.iroc-zpost.com and see the tech section under K & N filters. It goes more into detail about the chip vs. none.

you may want to take this over to the TBI tech board. these guys are right about the chip to some degree. with basic bolt ons, exhaust, air filter, and stuff liek that, the chip is very little help. if you get into more mods and you are using the rev range above 4500 you will need a chip, because the fuel enrichment on the stocker stops helping above 4300-4500.
