My first time at the track!! Results and q's within

Car specs are in sig. This is what i ran..

Run #1
15.592 @ 87.38
60' 2.152

Run #2
15.559 @ 87.83
60' 2.180

Run #3
15.651 @ 87.63
60' 2.212

I got my R/T's down; i went from a .803 to a .595 i still need to do better though.

I just left it in "D" and brought the RPM's up to about 1000K. Are these any good for the car i have? It just ticked over 100k miles and burns a little oil on start up. Over all i am happy.. The starting line is a little nerve racking but its fun!!

My dad took his 01 Reagle GS (supercharged) His first run, he SMOKED 1st and 2nd!!! When he finally had a good run he ran .1 slower than my fastest time! That car is darn fast though!

Hate to break it to ya man but you should NOT be running mid 15's with that car!!! More like high 14's.

Did you spin the tires when you were leaving the line? Your R/T doesn' make a difference as far as your ET is concerned.
Your 60ft of 2.1X is ok but I would think it should be better considering your suspension mods. I get consistant 2.0X with my stock suspension.
When I run mine I go from idle, anything higher RPM wise and I spin too much. If you can go from 1000 RPM and not spin, thne go higher in the RPM range.. keep going up a little each run until you start spinning the tires off the line. I also leave mine in Drive (third gear)

WHat was the temp like that day.. and do you know the elevation your track is at? The warmer the temp, the slower you go, same with elevation.. the higher you are, the slower you run.

It's a lot of fun going to the track.. I just started this year, so there are a lot of people here that know much more than I do about racing Just keep at it.. is your car good and tuned up?
My first run ever was a 16.43 @ 82
my last run a week ago was 14.46 @ 93 with the car pretty much the same as I started, just a few of the cheap/free mods.

I spun a little off the line but nothing i am worried about. I don't start from idle because i have a slight hesitation that i can't get rid of. I have all new plugs, wires, and put a new cap and rotor in the day before. It was hot as hell out there that day.. the engine was running at 220 deg. I have no idea what the elevation is. I was lauching around 1K RPM, and the last run i launched around 1.5K... the last run i had a crappy 60' time though.

Does anyone know if these are good times for my car? Does it indicate a good running little 305?

Since you have and '89 305ci Formula with TPI induction you should be running in the 93-94MPH range. With a 2.15 60ft time you should be running 14.7-14.8 with those 3.73 gears and mods you have. So no those are NOT good times for your little 305 unless your running in the Rockies with 100 degrees heat.
