Front disc brake upgrade for drag racing
The stock brakes weigh 29# per side (including the steel removed from the spindle modification) these weigh 16# per side. Weigh lost per side = 13#.

And that's unsprung weight so the saving is even better than shaving off 13 pounds of sprung weight.
I had Aerospace front brakes on my car and didn't like them. Converted to Willwood and they're much better. These brakes as well as the Strange ones you are using are for drag racing only. They won't last very long in a daily driver.
For daily driver use, you want a dual vented rotor and big calipers.

Re: Front disc brake upgrade for drag racing
Hence the title "upgrade for drag racing". This is hardly a daily driver anymore.
I have the wildwood dynalite disc brakes on the rear. I don't like the 2 piece rotor design so for the fronts I switched to Strange.
The Strange & Wilwood 4 piston calipers are larger than the single piston OEM calipers which is why you have to modify (cut) the spindle to fit them.

Re: Front disc brake upgrade for drag racing
then you have the wildwood 6 piston caliper. vented rotor for the drag racing seen and street..

with the wildwood front brakes and the Viking front struts..54lbs fell off the car..(just some of the 300lbs) that came off the front end..

been doing some other things then the car for the last few months..
