Hill Climbing 454 LSX 3rd Gen

Spectacular!
I know nothing of this car (although I am very familiar with the 454 LSX) but the video is simply exhilarating!

It is pretty cool isn't it!?
As a kid with a new driver's license, I'd take my my mom's new(ish) 72 Chevelle wagon and try and set "fish tail" records on the country gravel roads. This reminds me of that. Except that there's 500 HP on top of what the old 307 SBC could muster.

I've seen this and what shocks me the most is the Baja like suspension on that thing. You'd think you'd want corner carving but that thing is looser than a Kardashian.

You're right on that. Kind of reminds me of a drift car/desert truck mash up. I've watched hill climbs before and I generally see the completive cars low to the ground.
Then again, there's this Ken Block Pike's Peak run that is more entertainment than all out competition.

That is epic! (Too bad about the last lap wipeout though)

Poor traction and too much rear squat. Suspension not set up for that type of racing. Some sticky wires would have helped but as with all racing, high HP doesn't mean anything if you can't get the power to the ground.

It does appear the hill climber was a little out of it's element. As I had mentioned, and I very much like the hill climb racing format, the quickest cars are those with a road racing suspension. Watch the Goodwood Festival of Speed and ex-F1 cars are the top of the pile.
That said, watching that Camaro in the original post is a little reminiscent of Ken Block's Hoonigan deal on Pikes Peak. All entertainment all the time!
