Attention Third Gen Members,

My name is Aaron Pass with Microsoft Game Studios. We are currently in the development stages of a new racing game for the Xbox 360. We need a few cars of the Third Gen era for the game. I am writing to you all because we need to locate the cars for a photo shoot for reference images for the 3D modelers. Please let me know if you are the owner of one of these cars or if you know an owner. Thank you very much for your time and I hope to hear from some of you soon! Here are the cars we need:

1987 Pontiac Trans Am GTA
1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

 

1990 IROC's are going to be pretty hard to find, not a lot of them around. But body wise, they haven't changed since 1985. And all the 88-90 RS cars are the same body wise.

 

Dont forget in 91-92 they changed the Ground FX up a little for RS and Z28. They had "air ducts" as opposed to being flat. Also the spoiler changed and the hood louvres went to hood blisters on all Z28's.

No IROC's in 91-92, all the 85-90 IROC's are the same body wise, with the execption of the door decal locations. The 1990 MY cars have a diffrent interior, but I doubt the came makers are going to worry about that.

 

there is a guy who works for microsoft in Seattle who drives an 88 trans am GTA that is badgeless. (or a T/A w/o fender vents, depending on your point of view). his name is "Mangus" on the boards.

i have an 88 GTA. when are you planning on doing this photo shoot? other then the wrong color wheels and the wrong spoiler my car is identical to a late model year 87 in every way on the outside. i also have a TON of pictures from many angles from a feature that was done on my car, including closeups of the badging and finer details.

They will not tell you much about the game if anything until you go up there & sign the paper work, I worked with these guys on PGR4with my 71 Camaro.

when this game is announced you should come back here and tell us, i will buy a racing game if it has a third gen in it.

 

EDIT: Still looking for a 90 iroc-z. Must be very close to stock.

i have a 91 RS its close to a iroc not to much different

 

I've got a 1989 iroc-z that is 100% stock 28k original miles, and a 1988 Iroc-z that has aftermarket wheels and is lowered. Let me know if either will work for you.

I have a 1990 IROC convertible and a matching 87 IROC coupe.

Both cars have the correct stock paint color and sticker package. Email me if you are interested in either one. I live in Snohomish WA, about twenty miles from the main campus.

 

I hope that you guys know that this thread was started over a year ago & by now the game they were working with is now, out in stores

 

If it is, what is it? Otherwise it's an epic game, and it might be taking them longer to work out glitches. I know Forza 3 is around the corner. Hopefully, they have third gens in that game, too.

 

I know when we did the game that we were involved in it took them just shy of a year to get it out, we now have a copy of it but we dont have an Xbox lol

 

Yeah, but PGR isn't as "epic" as Forza 3 is "supposed" to be.

No Xbox? That sucks, so what are you supposed to do with your game? PGR4 right?

 

Nope No xbox the games we got just siter there (we got Forza 2) & our game PGR4. but they just sit in the case, just looking happy. lol.

Nope, been trying to get my husband to get an used xbox but we have to many system as is. Heck we even have an old Atari

 

A guy that doesn't want to buy an Xbox? What's wrong with him?! As an avid gamer, I strongly suggest he gets an intervention.

 

I didnt notice the original posting date, thought it was a current project for them.

I know for a fact the MS is working on another racing game now. My uncle was offered a job a couple months ago validating the handling of the cars in the new game. MS gave him an XBox and several racing games to get him fimilar with the controls.
