Anyone from Bellingham?

I might be moving up there. My parents are in love with it and say I should move there. Im from AZ, born and raised in the Phx 'burbs. Any Fbody owners there, any meet ups? Wheres the nearest raceway? How is the job market? Any more info would be great and of course pics of the area would be stellar.

Thanks guys.

Re: Anyone from Bellingham?

I went to college in Bellingham. It's a little big town. Crime is low, job market is about like anywhere else right now, not wonderful. Nearest raceway is in Mission, BC Canada. It's nice and basically at sea level. Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA and Bremerton Raceway are both drivable to, but Mission is much closer then both. I personally like Mission Raceway a lot. If you like to ski/snowboard Mt Baker is a short drive and a descent ski area (lots of people love it). If you like boating Bellingham is right on the Ocean.

As far as speed shops you have Meridian Performance Services, they have a dyno and seem to be nice guys. They had a 8 or 9 second Mustang Fox Body they'd run at Mission.

Not many f-body owners... too many hippies. No meet ups that I am aware of in the direct Bellingham area.. depends on how far you want to drive. Check the thread in this section for Marysville Thirdgenners... Marysville is about 40 miles south of Bellingham. Plenty of car shows around... pretty much any weekend you want there is a show through the summer.

Hopefully that answers some of your questions, any other specifics please ask.

Re: Anyone from Bellingham?

Thanks for the feedback. A sealevel raceway sounds awesome. All we have here is a raceway where it has to be 40* to get the to 800ft above sea level, being in the desert, you can imagine how often that happens.

What college did you go to? Thats part of what I'm thinking of doing up there, getting back into school and doing something with my life. Change is good.

Yeah, Mission is great, but I hate the fact you can only run on Friday Nights now for street cars

AmorgetRS I don't mean to advertise another site, please edit if you need

There's VancouverF-Body up here, but I don't like how it's moderated. Seems like it's a free-for-all.
Too much bashing and foul language, but you might meet some locals there

So I thought it might be a good place for him to meet some peeps in the North-West?
Am I wrong?

I'm here in B.C. and would like to meet some Peeps myself, but I don't like the aforementioned site

Re: Anyone from Bellingham?

I'm living in Oak Harbor (about 45 minutes from Bellingham). Just moved back from Maine so I'm still getting back into it. The best part about this area are all the back roads. Get the suspension on your car done up and make sure your brakes are good and just go for a cruise. Love all the winding low traffic roads.

Re: Anyone from Bellingham?

I'm in Surrey BC, if you look on the PNW thread there's a camaro meet in Tacoma. We may get a group to drive down and you could go with us. We are also looking for some meets in the are. VancouverF-Body is okay but correct it's not moderated and it's not just camaro/firebirds, which is too bad. there's also a few f body clubs around
