Aarrgh.......Noooooooo!!! :(

My car got ****ing hit today!!!! My left front fender is destroyed! The front facia is ripped along with the front ground effect! Of course the ******* who hit me didn't have insurance! Craiger was the last crew member to see my car in one piece as we passed each other on Pine Street today. I am so ****ing pissed right now! At least Jess got some pics of it yesterday. Looks like I got to get some estimates tomorrow. I was feeling really good about my car after coming home from a great day at the track. Now all I can think about is what a PITA this is gonna be! Do any of my local homies know how to do body work by any chance?

Dang, that's a tough break. That's the kind of thing that gives you a sick feeling in your stomach. I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. On the bright side maybe you can work some exterior mods that you've wanted into the repair.

NOOOOOO!! Dude that really sucks. Your car was really sweet. some ****ers need to learn how to drive. Damnit I wish we had gotten some nice solo shots of your car Shouldn't your 'under insured motorist' part of insurance cover you if he can't?? Hope you get it fixed with out money out of your own pocket dude. Wow I can't type worth a **** tonight.

Jess

You need to report it now to protect yourself. This guy is required to have insurance by law and it's not your problem to accomodate him. If he's the type that will drive without insurance he's the type that will screw you. Any rights you have will go away as time goes by. Seriously, report it ASAP. This guy's legal wellfair is not your problem.

The exterior was in really good shape! I think I'll get some estimates and see if I can't do most of the work myself ( with some help from local Crew members, hint, hint!!! ) and put the money, if I get any, into mods for the engine and drive train.

Yeah, but if I get him into legal trouble, I'll have to sue him to get anything! And to make matters worse my liability insurance won't cover it!

Oh. I assumed you had collision insurance. Dang, that's a tough one. You can either report and sue or place him on his honor to pay up. Nice options...

Thanks Don, I may take you up on that!

Yeah, my options are really limited. I'm hoping the threat of legal action will keep this guy honest. I got his plate number, driver's license number, address (from the license), and phone number (hopefully). I just can't believe my beautiful car is hurt!!!

That sucks dude! That is why you carry uninsured motorist coverage on your policy. It will pay for the repairs to your vehicle and all of your injuries (hint, hint). Report the accident right away.

Well Joe, to make a long story short, I was in the right turn lane waiting for traffic to pass so I could turn right. The guy in the middle lane decides at the last second that he wants to turn right, but had somehow failed to notice that I was RIGHT NEXT TO HIM!!! So the ****er turns directly into my left front fender!

If you go to that body shop, get a written guarantee. What ever they say don't take their word get it in writing.

Oh, and make sure the shop is I-car gold class certified. It does make a difference.

These places are used to doing insurance estimates so they nit pick every little thing. One estimate even lists new door molding. The door wasn't even touched! Also, at $44/hr, the labor charges really add up! Anyway, I'm gonna get the fender from Colin and try to repair the fascia and gfx myself. The only thing I can't do is paint it. Hell, I may end up making money on this deal! I spoke to the guy who hit me today and he seems willing to pay a reasonable sum if we can come to an agreement as to what that would be, so we'll see.

John,

That SUCKS!!! Give me a few days, I'm going to ask a few TPD officers what you can do about it? I see a lot of the cops regularly at the hospitals and on calls. So I'll ask them what you can do? They are not lawyers but do know some of the loop holes if ya know what i mean! Sorry to hear the bad news!
